Hi, I have been quite sad lately...when I am depressed I have this habit of getting into a downspin that makes me even more sad. Kindly share some tricks that you use when you are sad to boost up the spirits! :) I reallyw ant to enjoy the holiday season!

Many feel good stories are on the news at this time of year. Soldiers coming home after a long tour of duty, people who give to the needy and deliver toys to kids who might not get anything. Our kids gather toys books, coloring books, puzzles etc and take them to the local children's hospital to distribute. Anything you can do that makes someone happy will give you the joy associated with the holiday season and put things into prespective. It's the little things which will give you the greated joy.

Little things go a long way ...to help those who really need a hand. I have recently joined the Free Cycle network in my neighborhood and donated some extra tops and a comforter for a homeless person. Felt so good..and as it is those stuff were extra and I could definitely part with them. I also gave away a lot of my hubby clothes , sweaters etc at Goodwill Store.... Kudos to your kids who are doing such a great work from their young age itself! You guys must be great parents! :) I watch Oprah Show religiously and she often showcases small kids an dother people who go out of their way to do stuff for others. Seeing all this definitely cheers me up as it gives hope and connects me to people at large and suddenly my problems, whatever they may be seem small...I feel that I can overcome them and there will be a new day! :) Have a Great Life!! Happy LottinG! :)

Oh i am the same way. Its like your already sad about one thing and then everything has to make you more sad. I really don't know what cheers me up. My son tends to make me happy if he is being goofy. Actually sometimes if i am crying he will give me a hug and say k. K means okay. He is trying to say its okay. LOL

Wherever I go, I notice them, love them..and keep pulling my hubby's sleeves so that he can have a look too..I love kids..Oh! yes, I do :)

I get like this sometimes too. I usually cry for a bit. Then I look at myself In the mirror and ask myself Is it really worth It. Then again It may be. Whatever Is causing this problem I would stay as far away from It as I can. Go around people that make you happy. Talk to a good friend who you haven't spoke with In a while. Go out , be around people !

Being around people who know you and care for you is a great way to lift up spirits and also receive some objective, straight advise to solve the crises..I often share my problems with my girlfriends and vice versa. It is a great support mechanism.! Thanks for sharing :) Happy Lotting!

Friends are a very important part of our lives. I am glad you have a circle of friends you can turn to whenever you need them! I have friends too but they are in India and due to tiem zone difference , I am now not able to talk to them as and when I would like to...But still its a very comforting feeling to have someone you can trust and confide in. My friends share the same value system and hence are able to help me with an objective perspective wrt my issues...then dealing with them becomes a much easier job! God Bless us and our friends for their kindness, affection and generosity! :)

A lot of people listen to music to divert their mind and relax...ease themselves out of the current situation. But I tend to choose all sad songs when I am sad and that makes me all teh more sad. I guess I should create and save a Playlist of happy, bouncy numbers just for such times! Say what? :) I am sure that will help!
