any one ever been layed off just before Christmas?

I posted abotu my daughters co worker getting fired today for searching onlin for personal info (property taxes and divorce inof) of fellow co workers. she had been warned about it before, so today she got fired. I was wondering if anyone else lost a job or was layed off this time of year? I know many have been layed off through out the year, but days beofre Christmas must really sting... even if it wasnt your fault.

Some of my cousins down in Florida just got laid off from their fast food restraunt jobs. I know it's getting even more tough for people to earn a living. My mom lost her job a few years ago but she bounced back and now has two jobs that get all the bills paid and stuff. I got laid off from my landscaping job last year. It hit me hard and I have gone quite a while without having a job. Getting laid off right before Christmas has to be the worst but since income taxes come in soon, I guess it isn't so bad.

I've never been laid of before, but my husband was laid off this summer. It can be a real pain in the butt, especially when you're trying to get your debt paid down. Gotta do, what you gotta do.

it is hard, My hubby got laid off in Oct, but he also has his own business too so it kept us going until he started a new job in Nov. We are lucky I guess! Thanks forthe reply!

My husband got laid off years ago from a company 2 days before Christmas!! It was a horrible holiday. It took him until April to get a new full time job. That was a bad year and we had 2 toddlers who had no Christmas.

Me either, but some folks arent so smart, while others are just caught in this resession we are hearing about...
