i have recently joined ciao, and find the reviews, written for the heck of it.About 95% of members or even more, just write some crap.. or club sentences to complete reviews. I dont think that does any good for the product or the person purchasing. What is your opinion on the subject?

That, of course, is why Ciao has recently stopped paying in the way it used to. Certain people had discovered that you can write any old thing and then get your 'friends' to vote for it. It's because of those scammers (who come here to complain vociferously that Ciao is a 'scam'!) that it has changed its policies.

Hey, Akuseru! I wasn't saying that Ciao is a scam! I was saying that there are a lot of people who were trying to 'scam' Ciao by posting rubbish and gain points by having their 'friends' vote for their 'reviews'. THAT is a scam - scamming of Ciao - (and we have seen it happen here on MyLot, too!) I agree that a lot of people don't actually know the meaning of the word 'scam' (and also mix it up with 'spam', which becomes very complicated!). I totally agree that their new policies are an attempt to fix the system that was being abused by cheapskates who had found all the loopholes. I am not sure that they have it right yet (and there seem to be different Ciao sites which aren't all in step yet, so I may not be quite up to date). It does only take a handful of people (perhaps more than just a couple) to put the cat among the pigeons. Provided that Ciao have understood what is happening and know how to deal with it sensibly, it's just a matter of time before it's sorted and worthwhile reviews will be rewarded - and the wasters will be sent packing. The problem is that any site that offers payment will be pounced upon by those people who see it as 'easy money'. They are like the jackals, hyenas, and buzzards of this world: any way they can see of getting money for a minimum of effort is 'legitimate'. If someone throws pennies, they are the first to scramble for them! Ughh! Don't let me go on! It's easy enough to get me going on the subject!

ciao is finding all these people and cancelling their account, they are well aware of the problem. I am on ciao and I do excellent reviews.

I know that you do, Winterose. Give Ciao time: they will probably sort it!

well they are hoping to have it cleared by that time, they are also looking at the people who are abusing the rating system, but you never know they might not have a handle on it by then, I think once people have been paid that is it, they can't take back the money but the people will not get anymore money in the future. they say ciao uk is excellent and they want to get ciao usa up to that standard as well.

Actually, it is easy to write anything. As for reviews, I find it easier to write a review of something I have used or seen or read. I simply do not understand how it is possible for some people to churn out reviews just to get paid. :) Cheers and happy Mylotting
