I feel like smashing my computer sometimes!

I seriously feel like smashing my computer sometimes. This morning I went to turn it on and it was taking forever to load. On the screen was this rectangular box that had a green bar moving back and fourth with the word Microsoft underneath. This green bar just kept going and going and going until I had to manually turn it off by clicking the power button on the tower. When I turned it back on a start up repair came up and told me it would take several minutes then automatically restored my computer to an earlier date. I have only 10 minutes before I have to leave for work now and I wanted to play around on this program I downloaded about two weeks ago. I noticed that it was gone and I have no time to mess around and redownload it to play My computer went and erased everything that I had new on here back to the date it got restored to. Grrrrrrr! Sorry I forgot to add that this was a rant. Does your computer frustrate you as mine does me? What kinds of things does your computer do to tick you off?

of course when you restore to earlier date it always takes off the newer things. I get mad when it just stalls for no reason and then I have to shut down the wrong way and then it takes time to load up again. and I would also like to know where all these programs come from I had ove a million on my last scan so it take aover and hour to scan grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Oh yeah I know how you feel that sometimes our PC si just not working the way we expect it to work. Well I just had that same experience last week. I was browsing the net and my wife said she was gonna used the PC and then all of a sudden the net connection went blank and she was not able to connect. I was reallt frustrated that when i use the net it was okay and when its her turn it goes down. Until we got into a some kind of a fight I went to the PC and work it out through the night and my last resort was really to report it to the Telephone company that provided the net connection. I was suspecting that my Modem is not working already. The weekend came and they arrived to check my connection only to know that I am infected by some sort of a virus that really prevented me from surfing the net. So they adviced me to format my PC to really get rid of the bug. So the whole Saturday I have to work on formatting my HD and reisntalling everything. And truly enough after reinstalling my PC was working back to the way it was. Maybe that is what you need to do since the slowing down of your PC is a sign that there is something eating up your resources.

It happens to all of us some times or the other. But computer can be very upsetting at times. There is hardly anything we can do about it.

wow that has never happened to me. maybe i have taht option turned off or something, but my pc does make me want to smash it. especially when someone else has been using it and changes some options on it or deleted something or downloaded some useless program! i guess i'd rather smash the user in that senario. . not the pc's fault, but sometimes it acts REALLY slow for no reason. . and there was one time not too long ago when it stopped working completely.. had to replace the power supply. that made me wanan throw it out of the window. :)

I can see how that would frustrate you, it would for me too. I had to get my computer fixed because of a lightening storm, it zapped my computer and good thing it was under warrenty because I wouldn't have done it then. Thanks for your comment

As much as I would like to smash my computer sometimes, I'd refrain if I were you. It would cost you more, if you do eventually need a new one. I hate it when my computer is slow loading. The second thing is if it hangs and the third one is it can't shut down properly. I shut it down and it restarts instead. These are some of my frustrations, but not all o fthem.

I wouldn't actually smash my computer, it's just something I feel I want to do sometimes when it's restores and I lose things on it. Thanks for your comment

Hey, don't do that! You can give it to me! This sounds crazy but I love a computer that has problems! I want to get stuck in and hopefully try and resolve the problem! Well, I'm fairly new to computers, I have just completed a computer maintenance course hence my interest in your discussion! Wow, it sounds like you have been facing major problems! There have been times in the past tha I would bang the keyboard in frustration! I guess this is normal, a computer has the knack of getting to you in that way. Anyway, now that I have some knowledge on how computer's work I hope that I never become irate again. Good luck with your own computer. Andrew

My computer has frustrated me many times! I remember one time i just slapped my cpu out of frustrations. I had this incident where my hard disk failed just because i installed something which supposed to make my computer work better. It damaged my hard disk totally together with all the music and video files i downloaded for years! Everything went to waste. I usually have a lot of problems with Windows XP but i'm getting used to it but still it's kind of frustrating to encounter problems with it. My computer now doesn't seem to like me because it's been damaging the peripherals i've been installing on this computer like my videocard, hard disk and now, my DVD drive.

hi friend nixxi, my computer is an old one. as such it is natural to give trouble. sometimes the ram has gone bad, sometimes the hdd has given trouble. quite often it was the softwares which played the foul. though always i do not feel to smash it, but when something important has to be done and it does not work, it really drives me mad and i wish to do so. but cannot turn my wish into a reality, as i myself has to spend the money to bring it back to health. however, the troubles has done one thing.. i have learnt to deal with the problems and have gained confidence. this helps me a lot and i can help other too. happy computing..

I used to smack my pc a lot...literally. All those frustrating experiences forced me to learn a lot about the computer so now I'm having a lot less problems since I can now solve most of them myself. If you start understanding how the computer works, you'll have lesser problems with it. good luck and happy holidays.

My computer usually hangs and makes me crazy so the best thing I can do for it is to install two OS on my computer at the same time so that if one starts to hang then I can use the other os till I repair the first one back.

You must have a lot of space on your computer if you can install two operating systems. That's not a bad idea. Thanks for your comment

Ouch! That certainly does suck. Our computer randomly decided that the printer and the card reader no longer got along. It just refused to print until I unplugged the card reader, what a snob! My fiance was trying to put some pictures on his ipod the other day and it started to sync and then thought it should just delete all the songs on there. I'm not sure how many there were exactly but it is a 160 g and he had every CD he owned on there.

hello there... well friend, i understand your feelings... this type of problems will affect even a normal guy too... nowadays the world is getting faster and faster and we want a system which is the same speed so we can work and play in less time... but sometimes, this things won't get along with... i also have some time which i like to throw my computer into the dustbin because of slow loading time and always lagging... if we maintain the computer to its peak performance, we can get a much faster startup and low crashing time... try to do a maintenance on your computer and find out what's causing the computer to slow down and fix it... you will be relieved once you solved that problem...

I've tried finding out what the problem was but for me it's like reading another language. I don't understand why my computer won't start up normally it doesn't tell me that. It will just try all day if I let it, until I manually have to do it on my own, then when I do that... a window comes up saying that it wants to restore it to an earlier date and then I lose some programs and other important things that I"ve done on here. Thanks for your comment

Ohhh I know how you felt! Same thing happened to me but I wasn't looking at the green bar I was looking at the little flashing circle on the screen and of course I could see "Not Responding" so I pressed ctrl+alt+del to go to the task manager, closed that stupid program and stared it again. what happened few second later? Not responding again! Oh man. So yeah, sometimes I feel like taking my laptop and just smashing it into the wall! One deep breath and I just start again. Funny thing is when somebody says "stupid computer" and a man made them. hehe
