How are you guys spending your New Year?

Well, probably I'm going to stay home with my family and drink sidra and grapes. We usually eat twelve grapes and this represents the twelve months of the year. By eating twelve grapes and drinking sidra, we are ready to welcome the New Year. We also shake the coins for good fortune. What customs or rituals do any of you have regarding your particular culture?

We don't have any big plan for new year. We are going to go to a friend's house for a potluck party. Some of our friend will come, so it will be like a party of around 20-25 people. Every year we do like this kind of small party. But once there was a difference in celebrating new year; that was 2006 new year, we went to Las Vegas. That was such a good trip, I will never forget. You have a great new year ahead!

Hi Mirita, We haven't decided for certain about New years yet. We just returned from a three day visit with my oldest son which we really enjoyed. Whether we travel or stay at home for New years will depend on the weather. We don't have any particular rituals except to count down the last few seconds, and wishing everyone a happy new year. Blessings.

We don't really have any rituals. Every new year is celebrated differently around here. My parents could be out of town and I might be with a friend, or one year a group of friends and I stayed at our friend's house and watched movies all night long. Sort of like a grown up slumber party. But I don't currently have any plans.
