Have your tastes changed?

I spent Christmas with my cousin. Her son refuses to eat certain foods. For example, he will eat chicken but not turkey. When, I was younger, there was certain foods I hated and would not eat that I either eat now or like. Has your taste in food changed a lot since you were a child? Were, are you, a fussy eater?

When I was a child I was a very picky eater. I would not eat cake with icing on it. My sandwiches was only meat and bread. And when dinner was served my food could not touch each other on my plate or I would not eat it. There were very few things that I actually would eat. Foods cooked together in one pot like a stew, were a definite no no. Now, however, stews are one of my favorites and I am often seen mixing two things on my fork. I will eat mayonnaise and lettuce and tomatoes on my sandwiches now although I have never developed a taste for mustard and ketsup. I will even eat cheese, grilled, in macaroni, or straight from the block.

My eating habits have changed a lot since I was a child. I used to be really fussy. I didn't like to eat food I didn't know, and if my parents tried to make me eat a new dish, I simply refused. Now I am completely different, I love eating new kinds of food. I am very adventurous when it comes to food. There is still food that I don't like, but I am not afraid to try our new things, and when I am having dinner at a restaurant I always pick a dish that I don't know.

It is going to sound terrible but we could not afford to be fussy, the dinner went on the table and if you did not eat it there was nothing and I mean nothing else.So I am not fussy and will eat just about anything.

Hey smartie...Funny you should bring that up. We were just talking about this with one of our daughters the other day! LOL! I think every bodies taste change when they get older. When I was younger you couldn't pay me to eat spinach. Now I could live on it. I love to eat it all by itself with a little butter as a snack! Liver was another one and now I eat it at least once a week! My daughters tastes have changed also, although she hates to admit it! LOL! Rhonda
