I have many people who relish non-veg food. Some of them are so fond of it that they think life is empty without chicken, mutton and other meats. They probably don't realize that it can be harmful. Do you think it is harmful for health or if yes, do you still eat meat?

Vegetables are not the only healthy thing to eat. Meat is also good for you, without the protein that comes from chicken and other meats, a human body cannot function properly. Meat is healthy for you when it is cooked and prepared properly and the same goes for vegetables. There are some restaurants that fry vegetables and people eat them thinking they are healthy, but when you fry food, you kill off most nutrients and health benefits. By the way, Grilled Chicken is very health and taste really good lol

The benefits of vegetables are well documented and I belive they are useful for reducing cholesterol .However ,I believe that anything taken in excess even the vegetable food can be harmful if consumed in excessive quantities.I find for example that when consume too much vegetables it changes my bowels in term of consistency an dfrequency (hope I am not grossing you out )and I am wondering if that is good. Mind you this is my thoughts ,I have no documented proof but I think that the healthiest diet is one that is a mixture of non veg and vegatable food. When I did biology in my younger years we learn about some amino acids that could only be provided by animals alone so this is suggesting to me that diversity and moderation are the key to a healthy life.

I believe non veg food is no good for health. I read in a book that several ienturies back, a group of sailors got very sick after a long journey on the ocean. The only food they carried was meat. But after they landed on an island, their sickness was gone thanks for the fruit they had eaten on the island. From this story, I could reason that people must take food of various kinds. Vegatibles and fruits are very important for health.

Yes, I eat meat and probably consume more meat, chicken and fish than I do vegetables because I live a low carb, high protein lifestyle. I don't think meat itself is dangerous to your health...it's the fat in meat that is dangerous. This is why I buy lean meats and cook them in a way that drains the fat away instead of letting the meat simmer in it.
