Many people set losing weight as their new years resolution. Is this one of your new year resolutions? If so, how much do you want to lose? Do you really think it is possible for you to do? Or is it more of something you just wish for and you know it is not really going to happen? I want to. I want it to be about 30 lbs. because that is how much I have put on in the last year and a half and so that is what I want to take off. But, honestly, I doubt I will do it. It is more of a wish for me than reality. I say that only because I have a really hard time lossing weight and I really don't do much to lose it. I just wish I could. How about you?

Losing weight is a goal for me in the new year. I plan on doing it by breaking it down into small goals that I can do. I need to lose about 40 pounds. So first, I will remove the junk food from the house. Second goal would be to start walking four days a week. Third goal would be to add more veggies to my diet. And so on...you just keep setting small goals. As you get one done, you add another. You can do it if you really set your mind to it. I know I have to lose the weight this year, that is why I am setting it up as a goal system rather than a resolution.

That sounds like a wonderful plan. Where are you from. Is it nice to where you can walk all year round with out freezing your butt off? :) That's my problem it is so cold outside that I just sit in the house on my butt. And of course I don't lose nothing that way. Thanks for sharing. I might steal some of your idea if you don't mind. :)

My first baby was born year 2007. I planned that I could at least lose some weight on year 2008 so that my body will be ready for an extra weight for the second baby, which I planned for year 2009. But it seems that this year, I did not lose any, but I gain weight.Really felt disappointed. But as you said, I also felt that I don't really do much to lose it.This coming year 2009, one of my new year resolution is either to lose weight, or to have a second baby. Still have not decide which one I should choose.

well I have had three kids and my suggestion to you is not to even worry about losing weight till after you are done with kids. I lost all my weight right before I had my last one and now I can't get any of it off, I just keep putting it on. Makes it even more disappointing because I know I looked good, in my opinion, and then I went and blew it by having a kid. Why put so much effort into losing weight if you are just going to put it back on?

Losing 20 lbs has been my resolution for the last fifteen years. This year, I have three resolutions: 1. To lose 30 lbs (I put on another 10 lbs this year) 2. To write 3 books this year 3. To get repairs done to our house and to move to Seattle in September of 2009. I usually accomplish at least one of my resolutions. This year, I'm committed to accomplishing all three. I'm going to write down all of the reasons why I want to accomplish each one of these goals this year between now and New Year's Eve. I am going to create six month goals and from those I'm going to create 3 month goals. From the 3 month goals, I'm going to create monthly goals which I'll break down into weekly and daily goals. Each week that I meet the goal, I'm going to give myself a small reward. I'm going on the Bob Greene Best Life Diet and I'm going to work my way up to 45 minutes of cardio each day and 3 weight training sessions per week. I really want to make it happen this year and maybe the commitment is what has been missing all these years. Good luck. A group of us from My Lot have formed a weight loss group of our own on Spark People. If you'd like to join us, pm me and I'll send you the link.

hmmmm, loosing weight is not related to revolution as much as it is related to how much it makes you happy. So, if you like yourself as you are, why to loose weight? if you feel more confident when you loose weight, then go ahead. From my side, i am slim and i never thought in loosing weight.

lucky for you! Most that are a little over weight would rather be thin, but I think that is due to society potraying that slim is better. Which I don't think is the case it is like you said as long as you are happy. Thanks for sharing!
