Candy Canes Fight Germs, Settle Stomachs. New studies on peppermint, the key flavoring in traditional candy canes, reveal the herb may do everything from kill germs to treat digestive troubles. I like to melt my candy canes in cups of hot chocolate. Makes for a tasty treat. How do you like yours? http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2008/12/24/candy-canes-germs.html

I have never really been that fond of the taste of peppermint. But when I had to use peppermint cough drops I also noticed they helped my toothache. But I didn't like them and finally got some Cherry flavored Halls. My husband loved peppermint candy of all kinds. He will like that it will help his stomach. Thanks for the link so I could read more about what peppermint can do.. I do by peppermint flavoring oil for candy I wonder if it will work?

This year, for the first year since her birth, I have not decorated the Christmas tree with real candy canes. Therefore, I don't have a big load of them to eat through... however, next year perhaps we will try many cups of hot peppermint coco.

I do enjoy candy canes - I've only eaten them by themselves, I've never tried them in hot cocoa, but it sounds yummy!

I do like the occasional candy cane. I normally just suck on mine. The kids like to bit theirs. My grandfather used to suck on those starlight mints when his stomach hurt.

I don't really care for candy canes all that well. I don't like peppermint. I like spearamint and I like normal mint but I have never liked peppermint. I bought my kids watermelon flavored candy canes as my daughter does not like the peppermint ones either they get to hot for her.

Yes, peppermint has many marvellous qualities. I have a peppermin plant growing outside of my front door and I often pick some leaves and simmer them in water and then sstrain and serve. No milk and just a little sugar. It does cure many upset stomaches due to all kinds of ailments - even eating too much over the Christmas season. I can thoroughly recommend peppermint tea. I just love it. Blessings
