For Ladies Only: Shoes

Hello ladies! When going to work, what type of shoes do you usually use? Those high heeled stilettos or do you prefer the wedge type? Or, do you simply love the flats? I teach and so I spend most of my time standing, I prefer using flat shoes. It is more comfortable. But there are also times when I use stilettos and other high-heeled shoes. I use wedges specially during Fridays. The head of our department is very strict. She does not want us using sandals especially those in which our toes are exposed.

Hi dolce_vita78! I do wear stilettos or other high-heeled shoes before when I was still working in my business and sometimes, the wedge type of shoes. However, I am not working anymore, so I just wear flat shoes, sandals, loafers, snickers..but I miss wearing the stilettos--it adds to poise! haha.. Happy New Year! Take care always..God Bless! lovelots..faith210

while i was working during my younger days, most were office work. so i wear those high heeled shoes. i just couldn't care whether they were stillettos or the wedged ones. i can still remember that during those years, wearing high heeled shoes was so easy to do. there was no bother, no trouble. when i worked with the department of public highways in my country, that's where slowly i learned to wear flat shoes and rubber shoes to work. i was supervising the construction of highways, bridges and schoolbuildings then. now that i am mostly involved in farmwork, it is rubber shoes and rubber boots that i am most into. i am now thinking of getting some combat shoes. i believe that they are more comfortable for farm use rather than rubber boots.

Haha~~~this is interesting. I believe most of the ladies prefer to wear high heeled stilettos which help to make their legs slender. As to me, I'd rather wear flat shoes because I'm also a teacher. I have to stand most of the time. High heeled shoes make my feet ache badly.

I love flats, but mostly because their is no way I can walk in heels. Plus, flats are always more comfortable :)

When I worked in the office I wore 3 to 4 inch heels. I just liked them better with my dresses that I wore. I never wore slacks or jeans to work. Being in an office and seeing many people in different walks of life, I felt better being dressed in dresses and heels. When I worked in another place I would wear a really good Nike tennis shoe.

Hi dolce, I used to wear close shoes with heels before since we were not allowed also to wear sandals or flat shoes...But, during Fridays, we always try to be more fashionable..LOL, by wearing fancy sandals....I haven't tried wearing flat shoes in the office but I love it when I will just roam around the city, very comfortable!

Hello friend, when I was younger i used to wear high heeled shoes to work. Just like you, I am into training so i am required to stand for most of the day and the companies that i used to work are very strict with the dress code but lately i find it stressful to my legs wear high heeled shoe so i prefer flats instead. Good thing that my sup is fine with us ladies wearing sandals as long as you look formal. Nice Post. Happy Mylotting!!!

Hi dolce_vita78, I don't go out that much but when I do I just wear my trainers, they are so comfy, I don't like wearing shoes but when I have to go somewhere special I have to wear them, but usually I live in my trainers where ever I go out. Tamara

Comfort is the number one thing I should have before buying a shoes. But of course having a new pair of shoes is not comfortable at first wear or even on second or third. I'm a nurse and I'm always standing and walking even running so I prefer low cut sneakers or comfortable shoes that can stand my work. But sometimes I went to work wearing civilian clothes and I wear flipflops then change to my OR uniform wearing flipflops too. It's hard to be tortured by wearing uncomfortable shoes like high heeled and other shoes. It's like you want to buy a flipflops to wear instead of that nice looking high heeled shoes. So when there are events that I need to wear high heeled or stilletos, I have flipflops with me so when I'm tired of wearing them, I changed to my flipflops.

When i was a new teacher... i would always wear high heels... but that really hurt my feet... so after a few years... i switched to flat shoes... and would only wear high heels during important school functions... Now that i no longer teach... i am free to wear any type of shoes... or even sandals when i feel like it...

Ohh you're a teacher?!! My ideal footwear are serious-looking pumps, but these can hurt if I walk a lot. So I might go with flats that don't look to casual, or wedged pumps so that it looks serious on the front but very comfy at the back. :) I'm not a high heel person. I reserve heels for parties and big dates. But when work calls for it, I'll wear it. Some brands are more expensive but very comfy and I think it's worth investing in some pieces like those.

High heels make my legs look better but my back hurt. I like platforms, which have a slight heel. Preferrably open toed.
