I just heard that Charter Communications (digital tv server) might not be airing channel CBS after first of the year. That is who my server is so I called them and of course, very limited info was given, but they said that CBS is in "talks" with a buyer (why they are selling, who knows) but if the buyer doesn't buy, CBS will not be aired via Charter Communications anymore. If the buyer buys, then Charter goes into talks with them about airing. I also went into the high prices they are charging on my bill for tv and they say, of course, it is passed on to customers... the channels are charging them more for the privledge to air their channel so they have to pass that on to customers. Hollywood is causing our cable bills to go up Anyone have any other info on this?

I heard that announcement too but I didn't give it much thought. I have seen this happen before and everything worked out okay. It seems like every time a contract is nearing completion instead of just renewing it the parties involved always try to renegotiate a better deal for themselves. Then one side or the other will leak to the public that they might not be around anymore trying to gain public support for their side of the issue. In the end nothing changes.

You are right. Higher bills are usually all we see as far as changes. We don't get better programing or better quality. Even the seasons are shorter with fewer new episodes per season. But that is another topic.

I read that there is a carrier in my state that will not be carrying CBS also. I think it is a bunch of BS but what can you do? I personally could care less if we even have a TV in the house much less on so I'm not too stressed out about it but I'm sure the rest of my family would disagree if it gets dropped here.

I could do without it...not much worth watching so I have box sets of the old funny shows and can watch anything current online, so not a big deal to me to not have TV. It'd kill my husband tho.
