What are the things you have learned in 2008?

Disclaimer: I am only sharing the things that I have learned. I am not trying to change the way you look at life... There were so many things I have learned in 2008. Generally, about life. Of course, all are based on my experience... I have learned that no matter how much you love your work, time will come when you will realize that there are probably other opportunities waiting out there. I also have learned that there are some people who would promise you that they will always be there no matter what but later leave you hanging on. I have learned that it hurts really bad to find out that the person you think will and can never hurt you WILL.

I learned quite a few things in 2008. We have a very rough year in the economy and in our home lives. We had to learn how to spend more wisely and find things to keep us busy at home.

Maybe the most important lesson that I learned in 2008, as I am 17, is that instead of being sworn and broken down by something that didn't work out, I should find a solution. That means that I've matured. So the most important thing for me to learn is that if I want something, I should get it, earn it, fight for it, not letting something to get in my way!

I have learned to move on in life. It is no use of crying over spilt milk. YOu have to move on in life and do not despair over past decision. Life is full of growing up and learning from our past mistakes.

Hi dolce_vita78! Glad to know that your 2008 have been a learning experience for you making you a much better person. I feel the same way too. My 2008 have taught me so many lessons that have hurt me yet made me stronger and better and hopefully, wiser. The most valuable lesson I have learned this year is all about faith and patience. Take care always! Happy New Year! lovelots..faith210

I have learned that when I really push myself, I can accept change, for the right reasons. That even when relocating, you will still find people that you can befriend through work. And it is a lot easier to make friends in a new town when you work OUTSIDE of your home. Like you, I learned something of trust as well. Some people change, some do not. And sometimes intentions stay the same. I learned to take thoughts more to heart, and to not readily disreguard all generalizations, as many do have something to them. I hope this year is better for you, sometimes people hurt us and it just shows us things we may need to work on in ourselves. There will be someone who will come along that you can truly believe in.

(am sorry. my comment gone, will have it again) I learned to be considerate more, to less fortunate people. I learned to appreciate even little things others do to please me. I learned to express myself and gain so many online friends. 2008 taught me that I can still earn at this age should I try to.

I have brought out of 2008 that I cant change anyone, no wishing, talking til you are blue in the face will help. They have to be the one that wants the change. Then after that it is up to me to decide if I can accept that person in my life just the way they are. Thankfully it is almost always yes. That there is only time for so much and to do things that are the most important to you, making sure to leave time for the ones you love. Always thou make room for what you like. One more thing, I'm so much stronger then I thought I was. I have always known I was but to realize I can handle anything that comes my way with my family and best friend is reassuring.

Hi dolce, I learned a lot last year as well as realized a lot of things..I learned and realized that I cannot stand to be a plain housewife, I need to work and I love to work, outside the house! LOL! Another thing is that, I learned not to be trustful to any new acquaintances no matter how they looks good.... I will be drawing a line to anyone I will encounter but I am still open, just need to be extra careful...I learned also to save money and prioritize things....

Learning never ends - Learning never ends while life goes on. I love learning so long as live.
Hello dolce_vita. In the past 2008, I have learned a lot from taking some kinds English exams like PETS, which stand for Public English Test System from Level 1 to Level 5, the highest level for post-graduates and CET Band 4 and 6, which means College English Test Band 4 and Band 6, the latter of which is a higher level. I took part in those exams and passed CET Band 4 and Band 6. I will get to know the result of PETS5 in March this year. My taking part in the exams enables me to know more about the exam systems and it helps me a lot more in my teaching and training them to pass the exams. This is what I have learned and I am very happy to learn about for the good of my teaching. I will have a lot more to learn in 2009. Learning never ends.

I learned a lot of pretty good lessons from the year 2008 and it's cool that I can reflect on them. I learned to always be yourself because that's who people will like the most. I learned that anything you create will be original because there isn't another you on the planet.

Prioritizing things is a way to being able to organize things. I really learned this since I became so engrossed with my computer.;-) I am glad before the new year I have done things like clearing up and organizing with my small kids helping me. It feels so good to sit down in a clean house. In the end no one can help us best but ourselves. Happy new year dolce_vita!

I have learned not to take things for granted. I never have been all that bad at taking things for granted, but this year I almost hit rock bottom. Was out of work for a long time, car got repod, was VERY close to loosing my house and being on the streets. But in the middle all of this, I met the woman who is now my wife, and I learned a lot from her. I learned life is totally not about a house, a car, or any other possesion. I've never been materialistic, but I learned more then ever that happiness is all about the people in your life, and nothing else.

I start in 08 years to attempt the network to make money. I realize the knowledge, the specialty as well as the foreign language importance. Moreover in the life, I realizes:The human must depend upon itself, should not rely on anybody. Most importantly, after many tortuous paths, learned to ponder that own outlet, strengthened has worked wants certainly conscientiously, and persevered determination.

Well the things I have learned are quite sad to me. I learned that no one I have come across in the area that I live in really cares about anyone else, that everyone looks out for theirselves more and stuff anyone else. I learned that there is no such thing as loyalty either among friends or loved ones and that most people are willing to stab me in the back as soon as look at me. I also found out that giving up smoking is really hard!!

Hi dolce_vita78, Well I think we have all gone through what you have, the only person you can relie on is yourself, and no jobs is as important as yourself and people never keep their promises, hope we all learn a bit more this year. Tamara

i agree with all you have learnt. i learnt that you have to give someone a chance before you close your heart off completely. i learnt that in order to achieve a goal you have to be determined to go the extra mile. i learnt the difference between following you heart and knowing you better judgement. i learnt the difference between a soul mate and what i used to think was love. i learnt that no matter how bad you love someone..sometimes its better to let go. i learnt that just because one door closes..it aint the end. one door closes so another can open. i learnt that people can change. once a cheater not always a cheater i learnt that even i have to apologize. i learnt that its ok to give in a little i learnt to be a little stronger and more patient 2008 taught me a lot and hopefully 2009 will teach me even more
