Hi everyone and Happy to New Year to all I was just wondering, how many of you save container.(like the one from Glad, save and store) but instead of spending five buck for 3 why not keep the ones you get when you order take out. For example those containers with lids on them, do you save them or toss them out. I like to save mine, because I can always use them for leftovers. Like to today, I bought my daughter a salad, she had to put the salad dressing but could not mix it. she likes when I toss for her. So I grab one of the containers that had a lid, put her salad in there and shook around and everything was mixed. What about you, what do you save to use later.

I like to save the pretty jars that jelly comes in for spices and herbs. I make my own mixes. I also like to save the canisters like the pringle cans for some of my mixes like home made instant coca. I keep any plastic containers the we bring home from the deli with potato salad and such. They are the right size for leftovers and soups when I do extra cooking.

For chirstmas we had gone to a party store and they had all kinds of boxes, different sizes, I wish I could have had money to buy them. We use to buy my mother different jucies and the glasses in came turn out to be a set of glasses. Well, we kept for that purpose. I like the old jar, like the one they use in the western movies, for ice tea, sodas. I think I'll be keep them also, I just have to remove the label. thanks dee for the idea.

[b]Hi deebomb (Happy New Year) I didn't understand why my mother would always save the jars and now I know, I like making chile and when I don't have a plastic container I use the jars. I also use the jars for the extra oil (after making french fries or any kind of potatoes. I do use them for spices, it keep them fresh. Thank you fo responding.

Hi Antiquelady (Happy New Years) That's right, when we use to go over my in law house, everyone in the family would have the tupperware ready to take leftover. And I always kid everyone, about have containers if they wanted to take some food home. Bring your tupperware and they would have them. I couldn't believe it. Thanks for your response.

The only containers I save are the butter containers. Haven't thought about saving anything else.

Hi kaleegirl, Actually, I learned this from my Mother who saves everything from plastic to bottles etc....When I was young, I will always convince her to throw it since I wanted to clean the area or cabinet where she kept it..LOL! But, now, I realized the importance of it!
