Posters...

What attracts you to a poster? I'm trying to come up with 4 new posters for my project. The problem is... i have to incorporate words into my poster.. and personally, i don't think a poster with many words will attract people. So i'm curious, what sort of posters attract you? Those with large SALE signs on them? (my friend admits to that... her radar picks up the big red S_A_L_E everywhere she goes...)

No, images are worth thousand words. An image would make people attracted towards the posters but still you need a punch line but only one line with no more than 6-8 words. When I see the posters, then I read the words to make me understand what the poster is all about. Sale will always attract people. Are you trying to sell something?

nah... it's more of an awareness of a certain restaurant we're working on.... but it's also for a presentation.. it's like we have to incorporate our presentation slides into a poster... *argh*

If it is for a restaurant then you may use some foods pictures and draw a mouse near him who would say I would go to ABC Restaurant for this food!! Just my idea.

What kind of a project is it? I think that would help a lot of people answer the question better. I think that bigger text, something that stands out makes me look at the poster. Something bright but not too bright even too, something that you don't normally see, and that goes for color and size of text. If you have to incorporate words, try to use bigger words then what you normally would see.

I saw that you posted what the poster is about right after I submitted my own response, I guess that's why mylot wants ya to read the other responses too huh. Well I'll admit I still didn't read them, I haven't any more advice to offer though.

the project is talking about how 2 similar type restaurants operate their business. we also focus on what strategies they use to retain their customers.

Hmm it depends on what product you are selling to and your target audience. Mind telling me what is the product and target audience? Then I can try to help you. :)

A poster have to be attention grabbing. Make an attention grabbing header which would then attracts people to read your poster. The header has got to be big and bold and something that would make people curious and read your poster.
