Do you prepare and file your own income taxes?

My parents have been having a guy come for ever. So when I got old enough, he started doing mine too and only charging me 25$. Now that I'm married, he only charges me 50$ because he comes out and does my parents and mine the same day. I think it's a great deal considering my husband used to pay 80$ to file online (before we were married). The piece of mind of knowing it's someone who knows what they are doing helps. However, if he ever retires and stops doing our taxes, I think we will go back to doing them online because at least we have all the papers he has done for us in the past as examples.

I do our taxes every year. I find it to be too easy to want to pay someone to do my taxes. If I had more deductions or more money then I would pay someone LOL

I have HR block do my taxes every year. We usually need the money back right away instead of having to wait for two to four weeks to get it so we do the rapid refund where we get our money the very next day it does cost more but when you need the money it is sure nice.

hi 3snuggle...usually my sister does it with whatever program she buys. is use to do my own but she would insist on having her do it with her program. so i let her. :D one year i had a friend do it and she was a little upset about it. it just sometimes she'd put mine off cause she was so busy and my friend would do it right away. but the next year i went back to her.

I have never had to mess with my taxes it all which I am very glad about. I don't have to through any of the paper work or the hastle. My Boyfriends mom works as a tax preparer and all we have to do is give her everything and ahe goes through it all and sends it all off so we don't really have to do anything except sign our name. She has done mine for the past six years which was the first time that I had to file and it is also free so that is a big plus. I really hope that I never have to file them on my own. I would probably go to someone if she stops doing them and get them to file it for me since it is too much of a headache since my boyfriend doesn't get taxes held out till the end of the year it makes it very complicated.
