I'm an omnivore. I wouldn't survive in a vegetarian diet. I like vegetables very much and even like having salad often. However, I also like meat and even though I eat less meat than vegetables if I could, I could never deny that I like it and that I'd feel weak if I'd go through a week without meat :) Thanks for the response on my discussion!

hi ajithlal, my dear friend, i am a vegetarian and i am a born vegetarian . my whole family is a vegetarian family. i am married to a non vegetarian family. they are hard core non vegetarian and i am hard core vegetarian . just the opposite. i dont even eat eggs. i love to eat fruits and juices. my eleven month olide also enjoy fruits and juices. she dont eat much . my in-laws are always after my life to make her eat egg. but i dont allow . i skip the topic anyhow. i dont eat egg till todasy, then why shhould i give her when she is not even one year old. when she will be a little more old, then whatever she wanna eat, or is her taste, i will not come in between. but not now. i feel i am very healthy, according to my non-veg eating in-laws. i dont have alll those problems in life, nor am i that obese as they are. i feel to be vegetarian is a better way to live life.

I still eat meat, but after reading The China Study and Quantum Wellness I am trying to move to a more plant based diet. I think that much of what ails humans can be tied directly back to their diets and so I'm trying to improve mine. Also, I could really stand to lose some weight (which would, in itself, increase my health), and I believe that more fruits & vegetables would help.

I am mainly a vegetarian..but guess you cannot be a part time vegetarian..can you? But I love to eat a burger now and then and love fish and chicken. I don't buy too much meat for the house..but if I go out I treat myself to meat to strengthen my blood. Not a true vegetarian..

I'm not a vegetarian. I do eat less meat than I used to. I tried being a vegetarian and I didn't get enough iron so I was anemic. Then I took iron tablets and I had all kinds of problems because I can't take iron in that form. When I went back to a diet that wasn't vegetarian, I felt better. I do eat less meat now, meat is very expensive and in the USA, some companies put nitrates and other nasty stuff into the meat, so I have to watch for that. But to each their own. Take care.

I think it is good to take iron tablets if your anemic and also to check and make sure that you are okay.

People are natural omnivores, so I eat meat and veggies. But I am working on keeping sugar and starches out of my diet, they are the killers literally. I have a very close friend who WAS vegan and who was that way for most of his life. In fact he was a macrobiotic vegan. He now eats some meats and fish and chicken as his cholesterol was 600! He was also suffering from other things because he was not getting enought quality protein. Tofu is not a wonderfood, in fact I avoid all soy products as it causes it's own set of problems such as effecting thyroid function. Some protein can only be found in animal products.

I am a non-vegetarian but I grew up vegetarian. People used to tell my parents that they were going to stunt our growth because we didn't eat me. I grew to be 5 ft 9in (fairly tall for a woman) my middle sister is 5 ft 6 in, and my youngest sister grew up to be 5 ft 10 in. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian diets can be healthful or harmful. It's a matter of finding the right balance.
