hi friends, right now sending sms is also costing, a single sms costs about 0.25paise whereas a call costs about 0.50paise only, earlier airtel provided free sms.i used to send sms for my friends everyday when it was free rather than calling them but now i feel i can speak to them at jus 50paise each somedays i dont even use this sms option since the calls are cheaper.so how about you?

Its a dependent situation, If i need fast information, urgent i will make a call but if not really urgent i will choice send sms. Even call cheaper i more like send sms and use my credit to call my bf stay in another country.

I have blackberry & I get a lot of emails & text/sms messages on my phone because of work... But I rather make a phone call than message people... Don't get me wrong, emails & messages have their advantages... Sometimes I get so much information over the phone I tend to forget few things... If I get an email, I always can go back to it & remember... But over-all, I do prefer phone calls over any type of messaging...

my strategy depends upon whom i am contacting i am using reliance free card and talking with my friends and also sending free from net so i used to save my money thisway but i send my gal friend sms from my cell it gives a emotional feeling when ever she reads my sms because call get end after you disconnect the call but sms stay there for as long you want to keep

I usually send SMS text messages just because it's more convenient to me, and I really don't like talking on the phone that much. I never really priced out how much messages actually cost me--I have an unlimited messaging plan with my wireless carrier.

Sending sms is more convenient especially when you're going to reach someone at work or during a lunch meeting or otherwise. At least, they won't be bothered by constant ringing or an embarassing disturbance and will get what you have to say without even dialing into their voice mail.
