GAGAN187, I think the first thing you need to have here is confidence and a knack for taste before you can embark to cook in your kitchen. Basically, without the confidence I am sure you will not even get past the stage of preparing and cutting up the various vegetables and meats. Creativity and good organization are the by products of confidence. Creativity lets you venture into new methods of cooking and preparations and you need to be organized and have an idea what you would like to eat for the day or even for the week. Planning out your menus for the week might help you out with the grocery shopping as well. The knack of taste will be knowing what seasonings and proportions of ingredients to bring out the taste and character of your dishes. In this area, I think the best person to ask for advice here will probably be your mother who has cooked for you since you were young. Her astute sense of your taste preference will be vital and of the essence to the success of your dishes. Last but not least you must have a eating partner to share the meal as not only will he/she be able to enjoy the labor of your efforts but their feedback will be invaluable. It will make your effort less mundane and more purposeful. Hope these pointers will be of help as you venture into the area of cooking.
