they say this year will be a tough one, but since i shop all year round and pretty much only at sales, i expect that i will probably not do anything much different than last year. i suppose it just depends what christmas 2009 brings.

i hope that it brings something good. ya i know this is one of the tough ones ever, but it suck when i don't have a lot of money to get people good things or things that they wanted. i end up giving out money, but wasn't much either. i just hope that things improve so that the next Christmas will be better and i can give better gifts to every one.

Good discussion. I would have to say this is the worst Christmas I ever had in terms of having very little money to buy others presents, but do you know what I actually was able to get everyone something and they all seemed to appreciate it a lot more or something as I have never received so many nice thank yous before. I think I choose the gifts wiser for others. Sometimes I do buy people things just to get it out of the way. I think this year really taught me a lot. Next year if I have more money to spend on others I am really going to think about more carefuly what I choose for others.

thanks. ya i know it wasn't an easy Christmas. i have to say it wasn't easy to get things that people really wanted, i end up getting small things for every one. it made me feel kind of cheap, but i know that's not what every one thought that i was. i just hope that things will get better so that i can feel better about getting people things next Christmas.

I won't lie, I spent zilch (nothing)this Christmas season. I had no one to buy a gift for. I was going to work on renewing my honey's fishing license, but they said I needed to have his driver's license, and to me, that would be a bit much to ask without arousing suspicion, so that went out the window. Christmas before last, I had to buy for the whole work section I was at, and did I buy some gifts. That was the most I went overboard on that year. The next year was simpler, but this past year, NOTHING. For the past couple of years, I tried to save towards the season, but something comes up, but I am serious about saving this year. this economy situation made me seriously thing about my spending habits and I have to be real. So I may put some for Christmas too as well.

I usually spend about the same every year.....my kids get one gift and a gift card. Well I have already gotten most of their gifts for next year....so all I have to do is get the gift cards. I don't spend alot....beside the gift card....and I do think things will be a little better next year...they are already starting to look up.

I spent a lot. I did not buy presents I gave my three children money and they went shopping after Christmas. They were able to find some good deals before returning back to school. This Christmas was pretty good for us.

well that's good to hear that you able to still to have a good Christmas. i wish that i could say that mine was good. but with the way the economy is i had a hard time this year getting thing my family wanted. i did give money but it wasn't much to give. i just hope that next year will be better so that i do feel like I'm cheap.
