Yep I just made a discussion and realized I misspelled a word. Of course it was in the discussion subject. Yeah when I do it I do it good! I noticed just as I was to tag it, blah, why cant they have a revision just for spelling? Have you ever done this? Or anything close to this? Someone please say yes

I agree with you totally. I usually read mine before I post it but even so I find mistakes. I wish they would add to the tags area an edit button. It sure would be a big help.

I didn't even reread it I just wanted to basically vent, well I see where that got me with a big OLE TYPO write in the discussion line. LOL! An edit button would really be nice for those moments wouldn't it? Thanks for commenting.

Hello, Ithink. Yes, I have done that before. And it sucks, because I couldn't edit it. But once again, myLot staff proves to be really wise. No wonder that there is not an edit button. Imagine: somebody creates a discussion that talks about ice creams. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? You, happy in responding, answer that your favorite flavor is strawberry, with some chocolate. And then, a few days later, the person has edited their post. To something completely different! Something like what are your plans for the future, things like that. And then? The edit button was there. It is the owner's decision to change the discussion. And your response, that you put some thought and some thinking, cannot be edited (otherwise it would mess up with your earnings). I believe this is the reason for us not having one edit button. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

Very good reasoning. I had thought of this some this morning. How discussions wouldn't make sense if someone just wanted to play around and change their replies or discussions, so yes I think you are right. Thanks for commenting!

I don't even have that excuse, all I have is I had the need to vent. Thanks for commenting.

ya i definitely agree with you...there are times when we unintentionally make spelling mistakes which looks odd when we read it after posting. There should be an editor to correct our mistakes.

Maybe someday we will get one, time will tell. It would be helpful. Thanks for responding.

I know I have done this a time or two in here, and it can be quite frustrating for sure. A lot of us actually have wished some of the things you are expressing here and hope one day the owners of myLot will try and figure this one out as well. It would help eliminate some of the many discussions we have a hard time reading and understanding here I am sure as well.

Talking to other mylotters I can kind of understand why they dont. One mylotter said what if someone started a discussion and got replies and then decided to change some of the details? The whole conversations would be off. I wonder thou if there wouldnt be a way just to allow us to change spelling or capitalize things? lol Thanks for your reply and happy mylotting.

This discussion is from 2009, so myLot has changed since then. There is an edit button below every discussion we post, and also an edit button below every response we make, so we have a possibility to edit everything we write..Nobody else, but we ourselves can edit what we post..

Hey Ithink -- in order to avoid those spelling/ grammer errors on my discussions, I always review what I have inputted. What I think would be very cool is for mylot to provide a spell checker to run your input through. But I have no idea of the cost, or what would be required for them to do this, but who knows maybe if there are enough users asking it will eventually become a reality. Be safe, be happy and joyful. I normally review to a point but I think I was just so emotionally charged up I just wanted to vent. It would be nice if they could do this, if not I guess we all will live. Thanks for responding.

of course I have. mostly because I typed a lot and then I just post it without checking it. sometimes too lazy too check, sometimes too tired or just too long to read again. it's not unusual for me to have over 10 lines of responses so even if I read again I will still miss a couple of things. The same thing happens to discussions I started. Only I try not to be lazy because if I miss one word or misspell, people may not understand what I am trying to say. but I think what mylot have right now is enough, we just have to remember to check again before posting.

I am saying yes, yes, yes and yeas again. I do it all of the time. I consider myself a exceptionally good at spelling but I make so many typos that it isn't funny. I don't see any spelling mistakes until it is posted and then I feel so bad. My fingers are getting a little stif so this is probably why I am hitting the wrong keys. Thank GoD for spell check in my work. Blessings

Dear Ithink, It is really a very good topic of discussion. Normally I always proofread my response / post before I send. I do not know why my Firefox cannot have the spelling check for me even though I already enabled this feature. After the post send, then it appeared that there are spelling mistakes, grammar errors etc. myLot do not have the 'edit' feature for us once we posted it I am a blogger too, at blogspot.com we can edit our post but not here at myLot. I believe myLot administrator and founder have a good reason to NOT enable this features, perhaps it might affect the whole discussion flows of responses...related points and views. Thanks and do keep in touch!

I didnt think about all that until another mylotter said basically the same thing. I normally dont make alot of spelling mistakes or anything. I was upset when I posted a discussion and yep I made lots of them. Thinking it over if someone could go in change things after there were responses a discussion could end up being a big mess with us all going HUH? LOL Thanks got commenting =)

You can send your suggestion to the site admin. It's a nice suggestion. It can help. Editing is required many a time, and really we do not have a an option once we submit a post. But then we get an option to revise the post before submitting, and we can take maximum advantage out of that.

I'm in between now after reading the post above you and thinking about it earlier. Maybe if they could make an edit that will work only within like 5 minutes of posting and nothing thereafter. I don't know if that is possible thou. Otherwise people could change things all the time and the discussions could get really confusing. Thanks for responding.

Ithink, You have my exact sentiments and support here, but I suppose not every discussion board has the same setup and rules. I just hope that the mods will be ever more accommodating as far as enhancements and improvements are concerned. Just do see why they would not, so until they do, I suppose we just have to accept this and remain status quo. Take care and have a nice day.

hello friend, I also wish the same thing especially if like you i misspelled something or I miss out to write something that makes my thoughts irrelevant but since it doesn't have i just make sure that i read it twice before posting. But i just wish there is a tab or link that we can try to edit on the post that we made. I hope the moderators will read this and make some changes. Hoping so. LOL.
