I had what I thnk was an intresing conversaion with my mother (she is currently 76 years old) her mother was (my grand mother was 27 when she was born (she was the youngest of 4) My grandmother was 15 she got married and 16 when she had her first child. my mom was 18 when she go married and 19 when she had her first son, I too was number 4 (of 5) and my mom was 27 when I was born. I was 18 when I got married and 19 when I ahd my first baby and 34 when I had my last (#5) I have a friend who was 18 when she got married and she had her first baby at 19 and 44 her last at 44 (he just turned 1 Sunday) But her mom was 18 when she got married and 19 when she had her first baby too. it ssems to be common that people get married around 18 and have thier frist baby a year later. for people born in the 1940's 1950's 1960 and 1970's while in our grandparents generation 1920's 1930's and earlier generation it was a few years younger, and in our childrens generation (1980's 1990's) are NOT getting married and having babies at 18,19 years old OR getting married in their 30's and tehn having babies. anyone else have anything to share?

My mother was 21 when she gave birth to me. My father was 32. I was the youngest of 6 children and the only child that my father went to the hospital to see be born. My father has a fear of hospitals and he never could stand to go to be there when his children were born. The only reason he went when I was being born was because my mother was having a hard time delivering me. It's odd, but my father's name isn't listed on my birth certificate either. The nurse or whoever did my birth certificate messed up a lot on it. They typed when it was supposed to be signed, signed when it was supposed to be typed and the neglected to put my father's name on it.

Oh no!! That's terrible! Sometimes I wonder about the people who do the documentation. My son's birth cert is messed up too. He is supposed to be a 'second'. Guess what? The birth cert says III lol. My older daughter's first middle name is spelled wrong... which is one reason she doesn't use it.

I am not really sure how old they got me but what I know is my mom had me when she was already 50+ . I am the youngest in a brood of 9 and they call me a menopause baby. I'm 35 now and my mom is 80 and my dad is 82. I had my 1st daughter at the age of 18 and got married at 18 as well. I had my son when I was 19, 3rd baby boy when I was 24, my 4th baby boy when I was 27 and my youngest daughter at 30. I don't know beyond my mom how old she was born though this is all that I know.

Mylot just ate the response I was typing! My parents were born in 43 and 45 so they were 31 and 29 when I was born in 74. I was adopted, so I figure the fact they were older has to do with them trying without success to have a baby for awhile. They didn't get married until they both graduated from college and then my dad immediately left for the army. My husband's mom was pretty young, I think she was 19. I wasn't, I was 28 when my daughter was born. I do know that my mom was the youngest of 8 kids, my dad was the older of two, and my grandma (dad's mom) was the youngest of 13. Conversely, my best friend from high school had her first son when she was 19, and my best friend now had her first son also when she was 20. I think that several generations ago it was common to get married and have kids at 16, 17, etc, my parents' generation it was more like 20, 21, my generation I am the oddity, it was still around 20ish. The next generation I see a move toward a lot of people waiting to get married or just spend some years together without kids - a lot of them are going to school or establishing a career, maybe both, then having kids in their late 20s or early 30s. BTW, I say I am an oddity because I did not purposely choose to wait till I was older. I would have been just fine with having kids at 18 or 19 but I did not have good husband material back then lol.

Oh I hate that when that happens when I am typing and things just freeze!!! cool to hear from someone adopted. You are blessed to have such a large family. I dont think you are odd at all. that is great that were blessed with a child after trying for along time. some are not so lucky. Be well. That pic is adorable BTW. It that your little princess?

My mom and dad were aboout 25 when they had me. My dad was stationed in Bremerton, Washington with the navy so I was born in a naval hospital. My mom only had one child and I read a letter one time that she had sent to my grandmother stating she wanted a boy and she was going to name him, Paul.

My parents were really young when i was born or should i say my mother was really young when i was born. When i was born my mother was 17 years of age and my father was 29. That was pretty unusual then but now its really common.

My mom was 22 and my dad was 25 when they had me (am the first born). But I don't think we have that chronoloogical orders like you had w/ your folks and family. My siblings and me got married at various ages. Both my brothers got married in their teen years; when they were 19 and I got married quite late; at 40. Both my parents's sides got married at apparently early ages from 18-22.

my mom was 23 and my dad was 26 when i was born. i am their second child. they had their first two years before me. pretty young by todays standards i guess. but i think we have more energy and zest for life when we have our kids younger and i say that because my first and only was born one month before i turned 40 and it was and is exhausting raising a young child at my age.

My mom had me when she was 26 and my dad was 28 then. My grandma had my mom when she was 15 years old! reason behind was because its an arrange marriage because my great grandpa sold my 14yearold grandma to my grandpa (a Spaniard) because my grandpa was the richest man in town way back then and he is so obsessed with her...
