I think some of you are aware that i had been facing some virus problem with my PC which would always disconnect my from my internet and making me lose my sound. During this period i tried almost all free anti-virus programs that i could lay my hands on and this is a summary of my findings so you can use it as a guide. pls note i am only talking about free version and not the paid version. 1) Mcafee - useless. could not even detect the virus during the scan 2) Trend Micro - managed to detect the virus but could not remove or control it fully. it would suffer outbreak from time to time leading to dead connnection 3) Kaspersky - it is supposed to be good. Managed to detect the virus but cannot get rid of it which is to my surprise 4) AVG - detect the virus but again, could not remove it 5) Spybot, search and destroy - detect the virus but again, could not remove it 6) Avira - this managed to solve my problem after doing a boot scan before start up and get rid of the virus so now my system is working fine I hope this info is useful to all

Kaspersky is not free, and it's the best choice under the 6 chocies. Avira is the best free antivirus software in my opinion.

Hey, I'm also using Avira Antivir Personal and i'm very consent with it.Besides getting rid of virus,it is very fast.It is always updating itself without even asking your permission just in seconds.I also advise it to everyone who are looking for a strong and easy to use Antivirus program.

I also use avast as one of my best choice. I just scan in boot time and then my PC is good again.

Till now I've used AVG,Avast and Avira. From these three I will give full five star rating to Avast. Its free, also if you update it regularly, then it will detect new viruses when they come, since it has run time support. So you don't have to run boot scan, since virus has been removed before it can infact any file. AVG is also good but Avast is best.

as far as i know kaspersky will remove your viruses 95% of the times...the only viruses(ofcourse actually they are trojans) kaspersky cannot remove are most of the times "autorun" based ones and u can remove them manually

hi you wont get any best antivirus for free. If you want to have it for free you might get only trail version which is not capable for detecting and removing virus. better option is to buy some good antivirus.

I am recommending you to use free virus program of AVG. It is reaching out to protect your computer against any virus, trojans. Automatically updates with the newest virus definitions can be checked and started when you find it necessary. Additional you a firewall and a anti pishing program are included for maximum security while you are surfing on the internet.
