My friend gave me a book for Xmas....it is called "Eat Right For Your Type". I have been following the guidelines in this book of what I should and should not eat according to my blood type and in the last 12 days, I have lost 10 pounds. My blood type A says I should stay away from Dairy and Red Meat. I'm mostly suppose to eat like a vegetarian. So, I have adapted to this way of eating and I feel fantastic! The book makes senses....Eat the foods that agree with your blood type!

I'm actually finding it a cheaper way of eating when it comes to buying groceries....I don't buy steak, pork, ham, bacon or chicken anymore....instead I'm buying Tofu and Salmon. Also, the majority of my grocery cart is Fruits and Veggies.

That is what I mean. It is the fruits and vegetables that cost so much. They cannot be frozen or bought in bulk. They do not last long and you have to buy them more often. Yes they can be frozen, I know, or you can buy them frozen, but they are horribly expensive that way as well. When I buy fresh fruits and vegetables, usually the vegetables end up getting tossed away before I can get to them because they don't last. It is much cheaper getting the meats and the canned items, not counting the fruits.

I once had the basic food list for type A blood type because I am also type A. I haven't done much according to the book but over the years I have made a lot of changes in my diet that now that you mention this book, I am thinking I have moved in that direction. Not totally there yet though. It is a very expensive way of eating compared to the ones that allow more of the other foods.

If I have coffee, or tea, or regular colas, my heart rhythm changes to the dangerous atrial fibrillation. It is also triggered by stress. Unfortunately, even decaf coffee and decaf tea has some caffeine in it so I have to stay away from that also. I miss the tea mostly, but sometimes I would love a cup of coffee to go with my toast in the mornings. I rarely have toast for that reason. I also have cut way down on my salt intake because I retain fluids badly. The doctors never told me to do this but I am on a diuretic and even with the lowered salt and the diuretic, I still have issues with fluid retention. Other changes I have made were not because of doctors or anything like that...just things that I know would be healthier for me. I have cut out most red meats and now only have fish or poultry. Occassionally I still have some pork or beef though. I use ground turkey and other turkey substitute meats for things I would normally have beef or pork in such as chili or brats, or such as that. I have also cut out almost all fast food eating because of the high fat and salt contents plus I got burned out on it and don't really like it much anymore.

Hey annjilena! Well, I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol. So I have to watch my sodium (salt) intake and my cholesterol (fatty foods) intake. So I don't eat foods with alot of salts or fats if I can help it. I don't eat canned foods like soups and other canned foods. I don't cook with salt or add it to my plate. I try not to eat cheeses and not too much red meat. I do try to watch, but I don't make myself totally crazy. I am on medications that control both the cholesterol and blood pressure and they are both doing well right now so I must be doing something right finally!

Talking about this, I personally think that an increase of spices of cooking food over there is no nutrition at the same time is hazardous to health, In addition, we are eating the meat of catalyst environmental pollution around the vegetables are some kind of toxin, and long-term consumption on the human body without any benefits, would like to stress is a catalyst for raising the animals had the worst

there is hidden salts that affect the blood just like hidden sugars.staying away from fried food will help your blood preasure as well.eating out and not knowing what they are putting the foods really has a big affect also.

I am a very health conscious person so I really do not eat a lot of food not because I have health problem but because I wanna keep myself fit and healthy. I do not eat pork and other fatty foods. I do not eat processed meat like hotdogs, ham etc. I do not eat food with msgs, I do not eat food with artificial food colorings. I do not consume white breads and white sugar. I do not drink carbonated drinks, sodas, coffee and the likes. I do not munch unhealthy junks available around. My friends say I am very choosy with my food. They are wrong! I am not choosy but rather careful. I don't like to be like them suffering too many health problems at their age. I am already 52 but I feel like 20. I am not like them who are diabetic, hypertensive, etc. etc. Those health problems they are suffering are but offshoot of their lack of self-discipline. I would rather live healthy and age gracefully.

Well I don't have any problem with any food stuff as such. I try to avoid cheese and butter cause I'm getting a bit (ahem) healthy (hee hee !!). I'm allergic to sulfur which is found in some medicines, I get rashes all over my body. But my mom cannot eat a lot of foods, she is suffering from both diabetes and blood pressure. So she can't eat salty foods because of her blood pressure problem and she can't even eat oily and sugary stuff because of her diabetes. This rules out almost everything from her daily diet. But she loves to eat chocolates and cakes and all sweets. I try to prevent her from eating but she just can't resist. Well medicines do keep her ailments under control but as we say, prevention is always better than cure !!! Hey annjilena, you are so much concerned about health problems, I've seen lots of your discussions about health issues. Thanks for taking care of all of us at mylot...

I am allergic to cows milk. I take very little of it but still slip it in my coffee. I am Severe asthmatic and it triggers attacks off so I really should not take it. I cannot eat greasy food either as I have Irritable bowel, so I try to avoid it or else I will be up at night on the loo.
