I wonder how do you filter your friend list on myLot. Unless you approve all the friends requests, you should filter them one by one. You would probably know nothing about these people. You might have seen some of them on your discussion, responding on your topic, or maybe you have replied on theirs. But what makes you sure that if you accept them as a friend they would not spam on your profiles or on your pm? How do you filter this guys, especially those without clear profiles and those with very low posts and seems never have posted other than spams in every discussions? Please tell me because I have a very long list for now and I don't know where to start...

I only have a few friends right now, so I accept everyone. So far. When someone asks me, I tend to go look at their previous discussions first. That way I can see if I like the same things. It wouldn't be worth either my or their time if we don't have anything in common. I've invited a few friends so far. If I see them in a lot of discussions that I like, and I like their answers, I'll invite them as friends.

That was what I did the first time I came here when I got only few friends but then I realized some of them were not my friends. They found me in random and they sent me requests and after I accepted the friend request, they started to send me spams. I was upset and once I got mad and I deleted them from my friendlist. I felt bad, but I know I would feel worse if I didn't.

Ooooh, spamming would definitely get them on my bad side. The whole point of these discussions is to talk in a sensible way. Spamming offends me for a lot of reasons. If you can't be bothered to actually read something, or be interested in something, what's your point of being alive?

Of course you can't know that somebody is going to spam you until they do it. It might be an indication if you look at their profile and they have a lot of banners on it. Or that they are brand new here and haven't really participated in any discussions yet. But I just accept everybody and if they spam me, goodbye.

You're right..of course I would never know who would spam if it hasn't happened yet. so I think I might just have to receive some people who has for example 30-40 posts to show that they're active, and if theydon't send me spams, that would be great, isn't it? Thank you dawnald.

And we all are here for discussions and getting various opinions from the rest of the world, so i don't think we should avoid anyone from being our friends. Thats what i feel, happy mylotting

That's a lot of friends here. Are you not feeling disturbed if someone sent you spams for their sites or their ref links to your inbox? you know that you should erase them one by one and if the inbox is full people couldn't send you even the more important message

I don't filter any request. I accept everyone. If he/she sends a spam message I just delete and ignore. It helps to have many friends here at MyLot. The more friends you have the more your discussions will have the propensity to be answered. So gear yourself up and punch that accept button. Cheers, and happy mylotting.
