To be frank, i dont expect much replies to this discussion of mine. Saving the environment and saving the earth was never topics of great interest to most people and i am aware of it. But the environment matters to me and the EARTH matters to me. I hate it when people go about destroying my EARTH as though it doesnt matter at all. Have you noticed how people are so irresponsible ? 1. They just switch on their lights and electric appliances with no regard for electricity. They think electricity would always be there for them. Does it strike anyone that electricity is manufactured by natural means like coal, water, wind and sun and to have unlimited supply of electricity, we need to treat our earth well. Switch off your lights when you leave a room. Is it that difficult? 2. Turn off the tap properly.. Water is a precious commodity and some parts of thw world dont even have proper drinking water system. Be thankful that you have one and resist from wasting it. major part of EARTH is water but 90% of that is saline water(sea water) and you cant drink that. so dont think water is very abundant that you can waste it 3. Dont Waste paper.. Our trees are receding.. There are very less trees and this doesnt seem to be bothering anyone at all!!! Havent we all studied that these trees give us the Oxygen that we desperately need. If we remove all trees at the rate we r going, we will not only destroy forests but also ourselves. Use recycled paper instead of normal paper. 4. Dont use plastic. Plastic takes about 15 to 10,000 years to decompose.. What use is it?? 5.USe public transport as much as possible to consume less fuel.. There are many more points but is it of any use for me to type them all?? Would anybody read it?? And even if people do read this, would they follow?? I have spent a lot of my life asking people not to do all this but who listens??? i am close to giving up

NEVER GIVE UP! I have always been taught that every SINGLE PERSON can make a difference. Even if you are surrounded by idiots that don't care about the EARTH, please know that there are still a few of us. I use engery efficent light bulbs, I never leave my water running. I also recycle almost everything, never use plastics and I reuse until things are unreusable. I hope that you can take heart in the fact that there are still a few of us left and we are doing what we can just like you. Kepp faith and trust that at least YOU are making a differnce. Karma will see to the others.

It's of importance to me as well which is why I run the Freecycle group for my city. I give up my time and energy to help my community take that extra step to avoid having useful things end up in our landfills. I have done a lot of little things to change my way of living so that I'm a little more "green". I do want to say though, that your #3 isn't exactly correct. Trees are renewable and they are farmed so there is no harm in using paper products. The trees that are receeding are not for paper use. Paper tends to come from trees grown in farms for the sole purpose of becoming paper. That is a misleading concern. Now plastic, well that is a REAL concern and one that more people need to do something about. Use paper bags or take cloth bags but PLEASE stop using plastic bags.

Surprise! Many peopel actually do listen and follow what you have outlined and I am one of them. I turn off all lights if not in used and sometimes uses just a small lamp...I like going gree, using reusable bags at the grocery store, putting my cans and papers in the special bags for recycling and so on and so forth. Don't give up with the message...some may not take heed, but many do!

I would say, don't give up hope, but do give up the fight. There is a saying: "A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still." It's true. You can't convince me that global warming is man made and not a natural event. You can't convince me because I just don't care which it is. But I do care about the environment. I remember the days of litter every where you looked. Of air pollution so thick you could see it like fog. I do care that people are dying because of lack of food and clean water. I do care that animals are disappearing because of loss of habitat, because of garbage in our waterways etc. Anything we can do to make life better for us, for our children, for the other living things in our environment we should do simply because we can. The fact that we can makes it the right thing to do. That's the message people need to get. Meet people wherever they are on the issues, talk to them about what they care about and you'll find they may be more willing to do better, do more as long as they don't have to argue and believe all the whys and wherefores behind it.

Hey i feel really strong about saving this earth. As we all r getting so careless about it. I feel its time we step up and take some action to save thatever we r left with. So many beautiful animals have become extinct. One day will come what humans would also come to an end with all that we are doin to this earth of ours.
