Do you wash your clothes after wearing them just once?

I used to, and they wore out pretty quickly. Now that I'm cutting all my expenses, I wonder why I did that. If I don't sweat in them or spill something on them, I just hang them back in the closet and wear them again. If they don't smell bad or have spots, I figure there's no need to wash them. How often do you wear clothes before you wash them?

I wear my clothes a few times before i wash them.. saves on power, saves your clothes, and saves water! I bathe or shower everyday before i go to bed, so unless i have spilled something on them or i was out sweating my butt off i just wear them again. . i c hange my under garments daily though of course!

Yes, I change my undies daily, too. Also, if you are like me and don't get your clothes dirty try the delicate cycle of your washer. The clothes will last even longer that way!

It depends what it is and how long I have worn it for. But like you I don't tend to wash everything after one wear, especially if it's not dirty. I often use the "smell test" for things like towels. If it starts to smell a bit "iffy" then it's time to shove it in the wash. I try not to use the tumble dryer much either, since that sucks on the electricity. I can't wait for summer to return so I can get things back outside on the washing line and smelling summer fresh the natural way. :)

We wash our clothes after every use. We also only use our towels once. This may seem like a waste to some, but we feel very strongly about it. My hubby sweats alot, and I get hot flashes (menopause is lovely), so we feel that it is necessary to wash our clothing after one wearing. As for the towels, that is hubby's idea. He won't use a towel twice.

I know what you mean about the hot flashes, they're HORRIBLE!! However, I haven't had any for a little bit and I hope they don't return!!!! Of course you should wash your clothing if you sweat in them. Or if you feel they need it. But mine wear out so quickly, it seems. I've begun to use the delicate cycle of the washer and that has helped a lot. As for towels, they're just used to dry off clean water off a clean body so I only change them once a week.

Hello! I use three pairs of dresses in a week and wash them in Sundays. So no dirt would stick to the dresses or it would not leave bad smell. As regards towels and night dress I wash daily while bathing.thanx.

I tend to wear 'work' clothes day to day, and only put on something decent when I go into town. As a result, my decent clothes are only on for an hour or two and don't need washing after each wear. I don't put them back in the cupboard, but leave them out to put on again next time. My work clothes go in the wash when they crawl off to the laundry basket unaided. It hardly seems worth washing mud and cement and chicken poo off my clothes, only to replace it the next morning! It goes without saying that the lower layer of clothes gets replaced daily though. I wouldn't want you thinking my undies and socks have to find the laundry basket on their own too!

Well now, my clothes don't get all that on them but they are basically work clothes now that I'm unemployed again and I tend to wear the same thing day after day. When they smell suspect when I change into my nightclothes, I put them in the basket!

When i was young, i was my clothes everyday because i am not the one who did the washing. But after 15 years old, i started to wash my own clothes because the way my dad washes the clothes, it could hardly last a year and i do not want that to happen as it is difficult for me to buy clothes (due to the fact that i am petite) and i think it is a waste of money when the clothes is worn out. So when i staeted washing my own clothes, i finally realise it was not an easy task. Therefore, i will usually wash the clothing after wearing it twice because i hardly sweat. There is an exception though--- i will wash the clothes immediately if it smells especially of smoke probably after a night out.

Yes, we definitely don't want to wear clothing that smells bad! You are wise in your care of clothing.

I have a habit of washing my clothes after I wear them. Even if it was only a couple of hours. For some reason I just feel cleaner when my clothes are fresh and clean. I can understand that if a shirt doesn't smell or have a stain then it could make sense just to wear it again but I prefer to clean it.

I used to be that way, too. With money so tight, though, I need to make my clothes last as long as possible so I wear them at least twice before washing them and then I use the delicate cycle that is easy on them.
