The House of Illinois has voted impeachment of the Governor we all knew would be. Intriguing how the vote was 114-1... You know the Governor was that lone vote... No one stood up to defend him... What does that say? How do you feel? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090109/ap_on_re_us/illinois_governor

Due to the content of the taped conversations with Blago and his refusal to listen when it came to withholding his appointment to senate, I have to agree with his impeachment. Just because he wasn't charged doesn't change what he said and implied.

Murderistic, I would have to agree with you... He could still be convicted of the charges...that is what this impeachment step is leading to...

I think that the Illinois government finally did the proper thing. Impeaching someone who was under investigation for this long is probably the good thing to do to allow the state to come back to a good leadership.

It appears Illinois has spoken--regardless. These are the people who work with him every day, right? If they do not defend nor support him, maybe there are issues. Thank you for your comments...:)

Yes, Even the governor knew his impeachment was inevitable he denied criminal Charges but did not testify displaying a deafening silence in a grave manner Accuses house retaliation for him trying to help the people of Illinois and is Confident of "proper exoneration at a Senate trail anything less would be improper When malfeasance is displayed it can cause drastic measures to be taken. The state Constitution does not specify what is an impeachable offense and does not lay out A standard of conviction other than "That Senators must do justice according to Law" "The chief justice of the Supreme Court of Illinois will preside. The governor had his choice of weapons to choose from resign or hearing his choice Was his call to make I think he chose the most painful process of the two. I feel his defensive strategy is point the finger to the wrong mishandling by the Senate or this is just retaliation from the Senate as punishment for trying to Help the people of Illinois and he want the American Public and the people of Illinois to come to his defense since the odds are stacked against him 114 to one You can fool some of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the Time he just need to fool a 114 of the people piece of cake for any politician of Brass. So while he still had enough power before impeachment I will use my existing power To fill the vacant Senate seat I will choose a black individual play the race card And let them simmer with that he wanted something big that could go the distance And have great potential to take the focus and attention to down play this or he Could inject at anytime and could heat up quickly just like the Presidential Campaign was the only thing that could share the spotlight and focus off of the War. It is a bad feeling to be forced out of the group by piers of the same Beliefs! This is manipulated race driven politics to be manipulated by the best of the best and the best will come out on top well done so shall it be written the governor has set his stage for battle and we shall await his outcome!

Thanks for sharing, I was watching this on the news and they said that he might be impeached today. I didn't know that it has already happened. I wonder how did he accept that. They had asked him several times to step down.

He probably should have. It seems that the process is going to continue, and the vote does not seem promising in the favor of the governor........
