Holy Socks!

No matter what brand, type and even going up on larger sizes, my partner still manages to get holes in the toes of his socks. About once of month, I get him a new pack as I feel bad that I allow him to wear socks in that condition. His toenails are trim and I do not use bleach in the wash, so I am not sure what causes this. Do you have this problem?

When I first saw your discussion I'm thinking trim his toe nails but you said that he keeps them short so maybe his shoes are too short for his toes. Those are the only reasons that I can think of for the socks wearing out in the toes.

Hmm.. that is a good point. Actually never looked into that. I just assumed that they have been the right size since he picks them and never complains about his toes actually hurting him. Will have to check that out. Thanks!

They may not be hurting his toes but can be just short enough to have his toenail rubbing on them so putting holes in his socks.

He has steel toes too, and had them for a bit, never looked to see, but maybe even the insides are wearing out.

Mightbe he has big toes.... that's a good sign for a man... if he has big toes than he must have well endowed accessories:)

It had never been an issue before, just the past two years or so. He is on his feet about 10 hours a day, rushing around and such. I guess I never really thought about his toe size. I will give them a good look over when he comes home. ;)

Hello Utopian Idealist. I have the same problem that the socks get holes after wearing for some times, but not all of the socks. Good quality socks usually last longer before they get holes. I think that it has a lot to do with the shoes we wear. I seem to have figured it out that it is the shoes that are more responsible for the holes than the toenails. lol
