Any one like camping? I like camping of all types but really enjoy backpacking to remote areas. What is the longest you have camped? What are some of the items you take?

Oh!! camping is my favorite activity. The longest I attend camping is one week. Of course we have to take our food, sleeping bags, flash lights, shirts and jeans, shoes for hiking, mosquito repellent, medicines, rope is very important specially when you hike. Camping is very interesting. I love it.

Why its nice to see another who feels the same way. Maybe more need to get intouch with basic indigenious part of our roots maybe the world might be a healthier place? Mosquito repellent can be a needed luxury in someplaces. One week is about enough time unless your planning on digging in for the homestead stay. Who do you camp with, and do you back pack? Thanks for the replay!

Must be chilly where you live. Being from a very snowy state I know how it is to wait for summer. Who does the cleaning and the cooking of the fish? LOL Thanks for the reply. Have a great week!

Hello avidwhit! I find camping very exciting and interesting. But I never tried camping to a forest or something. My parents wouldn't allow me too. I remember when I was in college, we have our activity in our Physical Education class to go on mountain climbing. It needs parent consent, but my parents think it's dangerous so they never sign the consent. I just hope I could do it someday.

I hope that you can some day soon have an overnighter campout in a nice place just to experience all nature has to offer. Safety fisrt of course. I remember learning to repel. The first time I watched my friend tie up and jump. This other guy wanted me to tie up differently than my friend. I said I am not jumping I will wait for my friend to climb back up and show me. I have to agree will your parents on certain aspects of the outdoors being dangerous. Happy trails to you until we meet again.

I love to go camping. Where we go we all take the four wheelers so not too much back packing is done. But some of the biggest fun things we bring are MARSHMELLOS...lol all the kids love to roast them and so do I . Funny thing is I really don't care for the taste of them. I always have to bring the air mattress too . Bad back so sleeping on just the sleeping bag doesn't work for me. But it is just so much fun. Sometimes we don't even bring the grill and cook everything on a open fire with the cast iron set we use. Gosh does the food taste so good that way.Cameras are also something that has to come too . We have some beautiful shots of various things that we have done or places we have gone. Just too much funnnnnn.....

I like your user name! Reminds of of something someone told me long ago..."life gets easier with time." I dont care much for the taiste of the marshmellows either unless they are cooked to a perfect golden brown. Sounds like you do a bit of luxury camping. Its nice just to get out ah? No matter what. Thanks for the reply. Seems like everything taistes better in the great outdoors?

When I was still in College I always joined camping.. Actually, me and my friends usually go for camping almost every weekend.. We really planned it well.. Well, its not just camping but it is a mountain climbing or trekking.. And we make a camp in the top of the mountain..We stayed there for overnight.. We bring tent, sleeping bag, our food and water.. It is very exciting camping that we usually do because in every camping that we made we experienced different things.. Sometimes, we make some camping from another Island without letting our parents know where we are going since we definitely sure that they won't allowed us because going from other Island without nobody is living there is very dangerous.. But since we love adventures we still go no matter what danger we will encounter.. We are so very hard headed..

Sounds like alot of fun! I assume you take a boat from island to island? Is there any islands that have fresh water drinkable? Can you live on these islands if you wanted? Who owns them? Do you still do this are you out of college now? Thanks for the reply and have a great weekend!

Hi there! I like camping but we don't do it very often. Before we do it only once a year but not anymore cause the place has been forbidden from campers to preserve the area. We used to go up the Mount Banahaw in our hometown every year. Every Holy Week a lot of eople and tourists goes up to what they call Holy Mountain. It is believed to be a Holy place where several crosses can be found at the peak of the mountain. Now with regards to the things that I take, first of I bring a tent and a sleeping. I also bring first aid kits that includes some cottons, disinfectant and some bandages. When it comes to food, I bring only the lightweight packs like some noodles and bread. I prefer lightweight foods cause the bag would be heavy and it's hard to carry when hiking. I also bring a lot of candies and biscuits that I could eat while hiking. And of course, lots of water cause we need fluids to replace the water lost in our body due to perspiration. For safety at nights, I bring flashlights and lots of batteries. I also bring a cellphone so I can contact anyone in case of emergencies. It's so cold at nights so I bring jackets. Plastic bags are needed too for my garbage and for clothes that gets wet. We stay up the mountain for 3 days and 2 nights. Everyone brings something to eat and we share them with everyone too. Ciao!

hey avidwhit, how it going? Me I love going camping. I like going out into a isolated area myself where I am alone. I like going far out where it is nice and quiet so that I can listen to my self think and be alone with my thoughts. The longest that I have ever camped was like a week and a half I believe.

I enjoy camping. My husband and I like to go traveling alot and one of the things that we have in common is the love for camping. We take all sorts of things, sleeping bag, a tent and a portable tv and a music player as well as flash lights, and lantern. We also bring along food and a bar b que pit to bar b que meat. We also bring along a cooler and drinks to drink. The longest we went camping was for 4 days. Its just that we really enjoyed the place that we went camping and we didn't want to leave. Lol. We went to one of the places here in Texas called Garner State Park. Its a really nice, family oriented, and safe place to camp.

The state park sounds like a great place. They need more of these type areas here in Mexico. I have been to many places and stayed for a time that where so nice I didnt want to come back to the real world so to speak. Food seems to taiste so much better in the outdoors. Sounds like you camp in style! Happy camping!

Heyya avidwhit! I do like camping! I use a tent too.lol I enjoy hiking and fishing when I go. I really like building a fire at night too. Gotta pack some marshmellows for the occasion. I usually just take the basics and maybe some canned food in case we don't catch any fish.lol The longest I camped was two weeks. It wasn't as remote as I would have liked. There was a store a few miles out. It was at a state park or two weeks may have been a long time to camp. I do like my showers.

I like to camp very much. Usually we drive away from a city, leave a car in a safe place and start walking. We go for almost all day and then at night find some nice spot, usually near water. I take my sleeping bag, water and comfortable shoes. As we camp in the summer, no need for extra baggage to put on a weight on my back. If I ever need something I usually can buy it at some local shop, or borrow from my friends.

I miss the trail heads in the states of the northwest well really all over the USA. Something I always took for granted til I moved to Mexico there are not many trail heads here. The ones that are are not well mapped. Being close to water is for sure the way to go! Thanks for the reply and happy camping and trails to you!

Well I am from Ontario so I grew up in the bush. I love camping. I love lakes and rivers and nature and everything that goes with it. Last year I only got to go camping once because I was in school and moving and had a bunch of things on the go. But this year we are going to go camping, but take the canoe and go to a island and rough it out there for a few days. We found a nice spot last year to do this but we had no way of getting to the island. In the fall we bought a fiber glass canoe and had it fixed up so it is ready to go for the summer. Most of the time I go for about 4-5 days when I am in a tent. If I go with people in a trailer it can range form 2-14 days depending when I can get holidays and where we are going. I take things people don't think of.. like plates and forks and can openers and pillows. lol I let the men pack what they want then I pack the needs for everyone make sure we have things to help us on our journey. First aide kit is a defiant with me
