Freelance writing is very popular among different sections of people but people are feared whether they would be cheated by accepting the task, completing it and not paid for it.Now some sites provide secure transaction via the site admin so it is now becoming reliable.

You can try Helium. I have been writing there and I like the site due to wide variety of oppurtunities and earning potential. There are many other sites but many sites pay only to US residents. You could try Triond and similar sites which also pays for intermational members. Another site is AC and geta freelancer.com. Do browse Online for more oppurtnities from your locality.

I've had tremendous success with DemandStudios.com. There is never any shortage of work available to freelance writers over there, plus you have the opportunity earn traffic bonuses for the lifetime of your article. They pay on time every Friday (sometimes early on Thursdays), and I've never had a problem with any of the editors. Another reliable site that's currently looking for writers is BrightHub.com. They're another site that has no shortage of work, and they also pay on time.

Hmm, I haven't heard of BrightHub before. I'll have to check it out.

I belong to three freelance writing sites. I like them all, but my favorite and most reliable is Associated Content. I also belong to Helium, but have found their system a little harder to navigate. Suite 101 also pays for quality articles. Associated Content pays via paypal, and I have never had any problem with them paying for articles or paying for page views. Once you build up a good readership, you will earn more. If you would like a referral link to these, please let me know by pm, I make nothing from referring you. I'd love to show you how to build a reliable reader base if you'd like.

There's two or three in previous responses that I haven't heard of - thanks to those folks. I shall just add Constant Content as another article-selling location and GetAFreelancer.com as a job spot. Good luck!
