I've been through 5 mouses for our computer in the last 3 months and I just do not get it!!! Are these new optical mouses cheap? But Im also having problems where the wire connects to the mouse wears away in such short time and the mouse stops working? I have never had so much drama with a computer mouse and I always they lasted the life of the computer because I have NEVER replaced one until now. I have a desktop DELL, a refurbished one.

I have an optical mouse now. When I had the usual rolly ball one I did have issues with it. I'd have to open it up and clean the lint, dirt, and hair out of it on a weekly basis. So hubby went out and got me an optical one, it was maybe $20. I've had it for well over a year and never an issue. They also sell wireless mouses (mice?) but I'm not brave enough to get one of those. My friend has one though, and she likes it. You just have to replace the batteries every so often.

I have a wireless mouse. It works just as good as the other ones, runs on batteries. You just plug the receiver into the usb port of your computer and you are ready to go. I think they work just as good if not better than the corded kind, and there's not all of the cords to fight with.

When I first changed my mouse from ball mouse to optical mouse. I bought the cheap one, but I can only used it for less than 6 month before its stop working. So I decided to buy Razer Copperhead gaming mouse. I'm really satisfied with the mouse. Not only its good for playing games but last longer than the cheap optical mouse. I bought its 3 years ago and still in good condition even if I play a lot of first person shooter games.
