Using antique sewing supplies and notions?

I have a large collection of antique sewing tools, old lace, ancient buttons and things like that. I really enjoy using them if I can find just the right project where I think they will be appreciated. Do you like using antique supplies, or do you worry too much about using them up and just keep them to look at?
