Have you ever seen a craft you DON'T want to try?

Turning the more common question on its head, have you ever seen anyone demonstrating a particular craft and known straight away it isn't for you? I know lots of people enjoy scrapbooking for example, and do very pretty work, but it does nothing for me personally. I can't imagine spending time on it. What crafts have no appeal to you at all?

Making paper out of poo, elephant poo, panda poo, any herbivore poo. It can be done and I have some of the results from companies (elephant poo), but I would rather make paper out of the fiber before it goes in and out of the animal. But it does make the same plants go for two uses. Take care

OK, you play in the poop and make the paper, I have no desire to do that. Yes, carnivore poop could be a problem.

Counted Cross stitch! Oh my gosh, it is beautiful and I know people do it with not probelm adn maybe there is a trick to leaning how to do it right and all, but for me...just to much work to count the threads! I do crochet and count the stitches, and that is my limit at having to work to do a craft!

Scrapbooking has not appealed to me at all and yet I have seen some beautiful work. I have tried quilting and the result was not very pretty. One year I took a Stained Glass course but I found out that I cut myself a lot and I was really afraid to work with that medium. One craft that totally revolts me is no longer in fashion thank heavens. In Victorian times people used human hair to embroider pictures. Maybe you have seen some examples in museums. I do like simple embroidery though. I did a small quilt for my little granddaughter. It is in red and off-white (red and white is Canada's flag) Each square is embroidered in very simple stitches and has a Canadian symbol. For example the four corners bear a maple leaf. Some squares have animals, such as a moose, a chipmunk, a polar bear, a groundhog etc. A few squares have historical figures such a Queen Victoria, Laura Secord and Evangeline. Another has a log cabin, the flower of Ontario, a trillium, the flower of Quebec, a fleur de lis. The embroidery part was fun. When it came to quilting it became a nightmare. Eventually two friends came to the rescue. One fitted the squares together, the other did the machine quilting. I must say it does look very nice and will hopefully be used to make my little girl familiar with some of the history of this country.

I tried knitting and didn't like it. So far, that's the main one I haven't cared for. I wish I could find my photo album, I would love to scrapbook myself!

I am not interested in stamping and scrapbooking. I went to a party once and the demo lady had started a scrapbook for her daubghter who was 8. She only had it completed until the age of 2. I figured if the person who does this as her job can't get hers done, I will never get my kids done.

I'm not really into scrapbooks, either, or stained glass or jewelry. Almost everything else I'd like to try, though! I just don't have enough time to do everything I want to.

I'd have a go at most things, really. while I have embroidered things, and made bears, most needlecrafts don't interest me much. I would like to do more Willow Weaving, and I do PMC and other forms of jewellery making. I really like beads, there's something about handling them I like. and silk painting, I do from time to time. in all honesty, there's not many things that don't make me think, oh I'd have a go at that. cross stich doesn't appeal much, and I can't really see myself doing MUCH card making, except for things like my wedding invites, or special cards for friends.

I thought about this one for a long time! I do nearly everything, so trying to think of something was difficult. But to me, a craft that isn't fun is one where you have to make a huge investment. Part of my being crafty is making do or substituting another thing for what is called for in the instructions. I do like scrapbooking, but mostly because I'm a paper wh@r#... I prefer making cards and hand-bound journals.

Scrapbooking for me also. It looks pretty involved and the one's I've looked at were beautiful, but for the amount of time (and $$)I really don't think it is for me. I really don't have that much available time to finish one...maybe if I ever hit the lottery.

isn't it interesting how few of us are tickled by the idea of scrapbooking. I'm really quite surprised by that, would never have guessed it.

I can't recall not wanting to try something at all. I am curious and usually am interested in at least trying just about everything I've seen- even though I know I won't try them all because there just aren't enough hours in the day. But after an extremely brief attempt, I gave up cross stitch. I got a kit that was for kids to start out and filled in less than 1 square inch before I put it aside and have had no interest at all in picking it up again. I just didn't enjoy it. It was too much like work.

Anything that involves sewing. I love quilts and would love to design them, but sew them, no thanks. When I sew, I can only do a straight line. I've done two baby blankets. If I can't staple, glue or tape it, it's not for me.

There are a few crafts that I see and think that is definitely not for me, knitting and croching are two things that are not for me. I know people who do both and they are excellent at it, but there is no way I would be able to do it.

Yes, I have gotten very picky as I get older in not wanting things that are too difficult or too time consuming. Also if the supplies cost more than I dare to spend. I love to crochet but I just have not decided yet to do all the little squares to sew together. Also thinkgs out of the tiny thread like dolies dont appeal to me to do anymore. Also I painted for retail stores for 8 yrs so I am burnt out and have not gone back into that yet. I know eventually I will but just not for now.

Scrapbooking is the one I don't have any interest in, at all. Some of the tools for it look interesting, but so far I have avoided buying them. I would have to be very convinced that I would use a tool before I spend the money on it.

Scrapbooking would be at the top of my list of things not to try, I am not really into Jewelry making either. I could do it if I wanted but really have no interest. I love cross stitching (its really not that bad) and I have just started crocheting (although I nearly gave up on that one). But there are several crafts I just don't ever see me doing like flower arranging, mosaics, woodworking. I am happy with the crafts I have, think I will leave the others be. Might try knitting one of these days though.

You are like me, I can't bring myself to get excited about scrap booking. Also plastic canvas crafts leave me ice cold. I also am not too keen on making sock monkeys either. I someday might try making dolls, but I'm not too sure about that either as I didn't really like dolls as a child. Yet I love making and designing teddy bears....go figure. There are probably other crafts out there that I wouldn't want to try, but they don't come to mind right now.

Mine would have to be crocheting. I could never catch on to it. My mother has made bedspreads and everything and tried to teach me but all I ended up doing was a chain. I guess if someone needs a never ending crocheted chain I'm your gal! LOL
