Hey, I actually don't recommend you put Vista on ANY laptop unless it has a minimum of 2GB RAM on it. From my experience, anything will struggle to run on it unless it has 2GB RAM on it! Hope this helps and happy MyLotting!

i totally agree, our first lap top is a toshiba and it was one of the first to have vista. it only had 512mb memory when we got it. nobody said we needed at least 1 gb for it to run better and it wasn't till early 08 that we were told why if was such a pain in the butt to work. we then upgraded the memory and it works fine when not costing us money. we've now got a laptop for our son and i got it upgraded from 1 gb to a 3gb total and it works great and the new one we upgraded to has 2 gb and it's great.

Ubuntu is a user-friendly OS you can put on that laptop to make it great again for word processing, internet, and other office functions. Get it here: www.ubuntu.com

Its time you learn the power of Linux on older machine :D If you're looking for an OS for older machines, your best bet is linux, since most of the other OS are resource monsters.
