Are teens today learning more from their parents or from society? Would you say this is a good thing or a bad thing?

I think I learned more from society too. Friends, peers, being in high school, the whole "experience"

So you learned more from society was that a good thing or bad? Did you do things wrong because of what you learn or did you stay out of trouble that way?

I think honestly most teenagers are getting more influenced by their society. They pick up habits and mannerisms from their friends like drinking, smoking, thinking its a good idea to skip school ... At the same time though I think some teenagers will take what they learn from scoiety and try to relate it to what their parents are trying to teach them in order to form their own opinion

Thank you for the comment. I hope the last part about trying to relate it to their parents is true and that my kids will agree with me on what the proper way to behave is.

I think they are learning a lot more from society. I have kids ages 9-16 and the things they know amazes me...either I had a sheltered childhood or they are picking things up from school, tv, and other people that I had no idea about when I was their ages...I think it's a bad thing.

I feel the same way. I can't believe what some of these kids are learning today. Not only are they learning from their friends but in the school system as well. I came from the country and live in the city now but I didn't think things were this different. It's a lot harder raising kids today than when I was growing up. My own Mother said that.
