We are having company once again. We have had someone stay at our house over night for one or more nights every month since June. I love the company but the cost of all the extra food is getting expensive. Last May my husband got sick and so three different times we had some of his family come and stay with us. Since then I have someone come and stay one or more nights with us. We do have an extra bedroom with a twin bed, we have a hide away couch and a couch and plenty of floor space. In May we had his brother, the next weekend one of hubby's sisters, June we had my sister and her son, July I have my nephew and sister come down to pick up nephew. July one of hubby's sister's August one of hubby's sister's hubby has three sisters. September we had my son and his girlfriend, October we had our daughter come for a night to visit, November I had 8 extra bodies for Granny's memorial. December we had one of the sister's she came in July, October, then they left and Christmas came. We had our son and his girlfriend for two weeks. Now in a few days we will be having our daughter, son and his girlfriend, and my sister coming to stay. Do not get me wrong I love them all and I am really excited about seeing everyone. I will tell you it gets expensive feeding everyone and doing all the extra laundry. Our daughter, son and his girlfriend will only stay one night. My sister will leave on Monday. By then I will be needing to catch up on sleep. Another thing that having all this company does is it makes me keep the house good and clean. I have to deep clean with all the company here. Tomorrow I will be scrubbing the bathrooms. Do you all like company? Do you have company stay with you every month? How do you handle the cost of the food?

Gee, as long as I've lived here in this apartment and that's 47 years now, there's never been any company staying over, but then maybe since the apt is so small and when we first moved here it was my grandmother, mother and myself...as it was my grandmother slept on a sofa-bed, so no room for any visitors. As for your situation and constantly having people over like that...I don't know, if say it was me coming to visit you I would offer to pay for something toward the food bill. So I'm kind of surprised that the different people you have staying over that they don't offer help monetarily wise for food costs...yes, I know they are "guests" but it just doesn't seem fair that they don't help out that way

LOL---of course you could...I would have to buy sheets and stuff for the sofa bed..it's never even been used...this was a replacement sofa bed gotten about three years ago...my mother slept on it but just on the sofa, she never undid it to make it the bed part....oh, and would have to get rid of all the cat hair..LOL..my cats have claimed the sofa bed as theirs..LOL

our relatives are working abroad, they come once a year.just last week,my sis-in-law(hubbys sister)left with her family and next month my brother and his wife is expected.we have guests ,the whole year around.naturally, the house has to be clean when they arrive.but its really a herculean task to clean the mess others have created, once they leave.

That is who I have felt because I have had one set of company leave in the morning and the next set come that afternoon. You talk about hurricane clean between company. I have been so tired doing all of the cleaning. My hubby does not help me with the company. He is good at sitting in his chair watching me.

I see, you are have company again and again each every month. Till now I have no such experience that we have company each every month or weeks. Actully we can afford such a number of company you have had. We have no suffient room even monetary status. I like company to stay with us but reality is not in favor. We have company a very few not every month.

I do love company but it is getting old. I think that I would like a few months off. When summer comes I will have more company because we have a swimming pool and have swimming parties on the patio. I do love that time of year.

I grew up on a river near Yosemite National Park in California USA and learned to swim from Easter to Thanksgiving which is March/April till the end of November. You see in that area is gets cold and sometimes we had to brake the ice off the rocks in the rive to get in. Now I get to cold and cannot get in the cold water. Now I have a swimming pool and a lot of my neighbors also have pools it is a thing to have. I tell you it does cost a lot to keep it up. I wish I would keep it heated so I could swim longer in the years or every day. The thing with swimming in a pool is the chemicals where as swimming in a pond there is not chlorine or chemicals. But the swimming pool is clear and you can see the bottom and there is no fish.

You are really luck! You having good company and will have more in summer. Wow you have a swimming pool also and you arrange swimming party there! Actually we can't think about a swimming party in our country. Swimming is a sport for high class people here. We at our yonger age swimmed at our pond. Till I never swimmed at swimming pool.

Well I cannot say that I have nearly as many visitors as you,LOL. Most times it;s just my sister or sister-in-law that come for sleep over visits. I do tend to clean a bit more when company comes over, I think it's just something we do. I do like having company but I don't know if I could handle it as often as you. Good luck with that and I hope everything works out.

I don't have company that often, but when I do, I fix things that I can make alot of. I have beef and noodles, or spaghetti, chili, sloppy jo's, make pancakes for breakfast. I do not have anything like steak.

Wow taht is a lot of company. I really don't like having company like that, as it throws everything off, plus I have a weird work week, time wise, so I really can't have anyone over, except the grandkids, which I never turn down time to spend with them.

I am looking forward to having the grand baby any time. Hopefully I will have more than one grand child. My daughter has been trying to get pregnant for five years. Hopefully she will get pregnant soon. I would love the cousins to be close.

Hey tea! That's sure alot of company! You should just hang out a sign and say Bed, Breakfast and Boarding! That is alot of extra work and food and cleaning! I have enough to do if I have company just for dinner, never mind overnight guest! And I only have a small 3 room apartment! I can't imagine having that much company all the time! I do hope that that help you a little bit! I know that they are family so you like to do it yourself, but it does get tiring after awhile! I hope that after this group you will get to take a break for awhile! So enjoy your company and don't get yourself all stressed out!
