As usual, I am still on the lookout for opportunities to earn more money online. I come across, HELIUM. As I was reading its user agreement and how it works out, I got lost after the first three paragraphs. So, I am just going to ask you people about it. If you have a Helium account, could you share with me how it works? Thanks.

I get a nice monthly payment from Helium, my earnings come from daily revenue share, upfront payments and sales in the marketplace. Helium pays more to members who are active in writing and rating. It takes time to build up enough work to provide an income at Helum. It's not a site for people looking for a quick and easy way to earn online. It is really helpful for anyone wanting to improve their writing skills and enter the freelance writing market. Articles earn money from page views, when you have gained a star from the rating system. When you get writing stars you get upfront payments for all your new articles posted in most channels. You can submit to the marketplace and enter free contests too. You can find the 'community' and 'user guide' links at the bottom of each Helium webpage. The community if full of message boards where you can find help and learn more about how Helium works.

I joined Helium last month and I can say you that I have started loving it. There are several ways for you to earn money on Helium, but for that first of all you will have to maintain some Writing and Rating stars. To earn Writing star you will have to write a minimum of 4 articles and to earn a rating star you will have rate a minimum of 30 articles. Don't worry you can earn those stars easily once you do quality writing and rating. Just write you quality articles mostly in competitive titles. The minimum payout on Helium is $25, but you can easily achieve it by doing some quality writing and yes, they pay by Paypal. The ways to earn money on Helium are: (1) Traffic earnings: You can earn on Helium by the traffic that you get on your written articles. Although, this earning is low, but still you can earn a considerable amount from it to reach your payout level quickly. I have earned only earned nearly $2 in a month, but they are also of value to me. (2) Upfront payments: One more way of earning money on Helium is to get upfront payments on the articles you have written. You get upfront payments according to your writing star and for articles you have written in that particular month. You can get 50 cents per article if you have one writing star, $1 if you have two stars and so on. Just remember to maintain at least 1 rating star and to write in competitive section. You get payments for articles written till 25th of a month. (3) Writing contests: There are writing contests which are held every week with 20 titles in each category. You can write for the titles you know and get points based on your rankings in each title. If you win a contest then there is a prize of $60 for 1st place, $40 for 2nd place and $30 for 3rd place. (4) Marketplace: In this section, you can write for a particular title posted in the section. There are many articles submitted to a title and rated by Helium users. So, if your article is rated highly and chosen by the person who wants it, then you can earn the money written in front of that title. (5) Awards: There are also various contests held by famous organizations to urge you to write good articles. If you win, then you get a certificate and some prize money. (6) Others: Other ways of earning money are also announced periodically by Helium. Like now, you can earn $1 for each article written for titles with no articles. You can also earn $3 each month if you maintain a rating star of 5. CAUTION: Don't try to plagiarize on Helium, because recently my two articles were deleted by them. Although they did not close my account, but they threaten to close it if I plagiarize again.

Hi bubblyapple, I am new on Helium, and got lost too reading it all through. But basically my understanding is you write, rate and they pay based on ratings and articles. After I signed up I got and e-mail saying if I submitted an article they would put $5.00 in my account. I got pretty excited. I found a topic I wanted to write on, but it has twice as many words as they allow, so I have to re-write. They give you a week to submit your article for the five dollars. I this isn't exactly the answer you were looking for, but is as far as I have gotten so far. Best wishes! Happy posting! Be happy, Be joyful, Be safe, Be strong! OOHCUTE2340

Is Helium the one that doesn't have a log-in? I looked around in it and I too got lost. Then I tried Associated Content. Had 4 articles accepted, but none of them paid up front. I think I've made .10 in about 4 months. Then I got an invitation to Bukisa. I've submitted several articles there and they are doing much better than my AC account. They seem to get more views. Bukisa only pays by views, but has the highest rate I've found any where. You can find a link in my profile if you're interested in checking it out.

I'm not sure if it is the one without the log in. My brother tried Associated Content and just like your experience, his account hasn't earn more than a few cents. Thanks for sharing information.

I joined a while back but have been holding back do to someone's warning that they may close an account without base for the charge why. I didn't know about writing the article for any money though. I know they have a marketplace now--I hope they have improved or the story isn't true.

Gee, Helium a lot of things are going around in the internet I never knew that there was this thing on the net. But now I guess I will end up checking it out too. Seriously, internet is a great place if you want to earn some bucks. However, with the genuine opportunities there are a lot of scams that are present as well. Helium, intresting. Thanks for the heads up. This is why I like mylot, the kind of information you get from co-mylotters is amazing.
