How do you start your response to a discussion? Like I use the "Well", "OK" most of the time to start a response with. Sometimes I use the word, "SO".

Yes, I have seen your answers to my discussions and I have noticed it that you start it with a formal hi. I like the way you end your discussion but why do you want to change it. It may become your signature!

I do not have any specific word to start with my response. I just type the one that has to be put up for that discussion..It can be "I", "My", "It"..For me it is not a pre determined one. Infact only after reading your discussion, I'm thinking about the first word of my posts..I even looked back to few of my older posts..Interesting one.

Thank you for the complement. Most of the user I saw here uses the word, "Well" or "LOL". So, I thought a poll would do good for me and mylot.

It really depends on the discussion itself. I try to dive right in if the poster asks a question. I don't think I have a word or phrase that I use to start my responses. Sometimes I start it off with "LOL". Now you are going to make me go back and read through some of my responses to see if I have a pattern! Happy myLotting!

You started here with a word, "It". yea, LOL, I like this word. Earlier I didn't know the meaning of it. In my language LOL means a foolish guy!

Most of the time, I also feel that "well" is the word to start a discussion with. Starting a response with this word adds an emotion that we are giving respect to the owner.

I start my responses off with a lot off different words/letters. "I, ok, well, so, that, it, depends" i think those are the most common ones i use..

Hi. It largely depends on the discussion but I think, I use 'Hi' as my first word in most of the cases as I think it is a nice way to start a post. I use the phrase 'I mean' a lot in the middle of my posts and at times it is not good.

Experts say that use of 'I mean' does not give a good impression on people who are reading it. I had been using this quote a lot in my post but now I have reduced it to one or two per post! Thanks for responding.

Didn't knew the experts felt this way too, but yes I am working on reducing usage of this phrase in my writing or even speaking.

I find myself not using the same work for most responses. It all depends on what the topic is about, and how the writer struck me. I find it fun to key off what the writer is talking about once a discussion interests me.

I have seen your responses and I must tell you that you impress me all the times. If I am not wrong you got a BR from me too. So, it suggests me that its not the way you start your discussion but the way you present your idea, matters the most.

Yes, you just gave me the BR on your SMS discussion. But like you said, its more about the content of what you write rather than the word that you start the response with.

I usually start with the word "Well" but then i'm trying to minimize it so it won't be too obvious. Lol! Well i start with the word "I" which means i was able to resist. lol! Sometimes where there's a mind boggling discussion, i would start with "hmmm" to emphasize that i'm thiking first before responding.

Hi sanuanu, I believe you are quite familiar with the way I'm used to respond a discussion I would like to say HI and followed by the user name of the discussion creator. Yeah, just like what I have done here. Sometimes I would start by Yeah or Really if I agree with the opinion of the creator. In case the username of the discussion starter is too lengthy I would start with HI There. usually I would like to end my response with Happy posting , sometimes may followed by HAVE A NICE DAY or WISH YOU ALL THE BEST and .....

Hi lkbooi, always nice to have a chat or two with you. I have seen one of the response where you have used a shorter version of user name because it was a long name. As you would have known for me, I have been using "Well" as starting in past time but now I have started using "hi" in the begining, after all it makes others feel nice, isn't it/

I believe that it depends on the discussion as to what I write and how I start it. I am sure that the word "well" is one of the most common and the word "I". It is interesting to think about this as I had never given it any thought.

Hi Carlos, Yes, it was an interesting thought and I have seen some people starting their response with a word "well", however, most of them start it with a "hi" or "hello" or even "good" also! Thanks for responding.

I would feel that are writing it well if you are not using the word well in the start. Your response well and I think you are also well. so, I like the word well.
