I put off my cellphone when I go inside a bank. Even if the guard doesn't tell me to put it off. I was told once to put off my cellphone before I entered a bank and from that time on I always put off my cellphone. How about you? Do you put off your cellphone before going inside a bank?

Not all banks in the Philippines prohibit cellphone use in banks but so as not to break rules i always put off my cellphone. I want the safe side. I admire your country for that matter. Cheers!!

I admire your discpline. I put my phone in silent mode when I'm in the bank, espcially if I am waiting for an important phone call and go out of the bank of I have to make a phone call or send a text message then go back in again

put off a cell phone while in the bank?.... why thats the first time i am hearing this... though i dont go to the bank all that much....either the office boy does all the bank work or i just work through the ATM..... but no one ever told me at any point to put my cell phone off in the bank...and what may the reason be for that ? i see a board all the time at gas stations requesting the customers to put off their cell phones but no one follows that too...... they give a weird reason but whatever that may be no one pays any attention to it..... when i am in the hospital, at a function or work then i just put the cell phone on a silent mode but i wouldnt ever switch off my cell phone unless it means that not switching it off would mean danger!!

If there's a sign "switch off your mobile phone", then i do switching it off. Most of the banks never allowed people using mobile phone inside for security reasons, so i do always off my mobile, always follow the rules!

I think this not allowing people from texting inside a bank is exaggeration!! Maybe a doing a call will disturb other people in the bank I could understand that but not texting!! Taking pictures inside a bank with your cellphone now I am favor of disallowing it!! but texting?? hello?? its not like we can trigger something inside that could explode any minute like a gasoline station!! Security reasons is not enough reason for me. Its like taking a part of our rights and completely unnecessary unless they give me a hard fact about the dangers of texting inside a bank!!

Hi Masmasika, I don’t turn off my cell phone or set it to silence mode when entering a bank. Here in my place we are not allowed to talk on the cell phone while queuing or standing in front of the counter. We have to leave the bank and talk on it outside if we receive a call inside the bank. I will turn off my cell phone while visiting someone at the ward in hospital. I was told that the radiation wave of cell phone would affect the electronic use system of the hospital and this might cause undesirable effect to it. I will turn off my mobile phone as well after I step in a cinema. People in my place have the good habit to turn off the cell phone or set it to silence mode before the move starting. The disgusting ringtone will disturb other audiences watching movie in the cinema. Happy posting and have a nice day.

Hi Masmasika I don't put off the cell when I am inside a bank. Instead of putting off I will switch over to vibrating mode. So when there is vibrations,I will just go out of the banking hall,to attend the call. Who knows, there may be someone desperately trying our number, when you are in bank. So I don't switch off. Of course if we are told by some guard, then we need to switch off. Happy mylotting.

not really because i mostly get calls emergency calls or normall calls or even business calls so i need to keep it on if the guards say to switch it off i just put it on silent (vibarate)
