Treating yourself before necessities?

Does it ever bother anyone else to hear someone buy themself treats that are say pricey. But yet want a pity party they cannot afford a necessity? Like going on a trip when you are stuggling to keep current on bills. Buying a gadget instead of putting it twards groceries but complain your fridge is low. I know we all avoid buying or paying certain things we should because we have a "want" for something; I'm guilty of this upon occasion too. But sometimes you need to pay attention to necessities rather than the extras in life. Does it drive anyone else crazy?

It certainly drives me crazy. I think it's kind of hypocritical of people actually to always put their wants first before their needs. I can understand wanting things and it certainly is OK to treat yourself now and then to things. However, nothing really should come before buying food or paying your electric bill so you can have heat. It seems people forget that wants are wants and that sometimes just by waiting a bit longer, the urge to buy something that you want will go away. Sometimes you just have to resist temptation long enough.

Hello 3SnuggleBunnies! I rarely treat myself actually. I am always saving money in case might use it on emergencies. Treating ourselves is not bad but as long as we don't have bills or debts to worry anymore.
