Starting more discussions?

So I mostly just respond to my friend's discussions and many of them have asked me why I don't just start more of my own discussions. I have been told so many times by my friends here that I will make more money by starting my own discussions and they, as my friend, would help me by responding to them the way I do with their discussions. So I finally started a new discussion on Saturday and guess what. I only got two responses to it and today is Monday. So where are my friends? Where are the ones that are always asking me why I don;t start my own discussions. Where are the ones that said if I started more they would respond to them? So I will start another one and see how it goes. I hope my friends respond to this one. Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend, Have a good mylotting day, Chris

I find it hard to start a new discussion unless it is something that is about health, that I am worried about, or something I am involved with or concerned about, but to pick something out of the air, I just cannot do. But I find if the discussion is about food, house, and family, and religion I get a lot of responses, but something profane, I just get a few. I mean I had some discussions that I only got two or three, but had to mark best response because no one else responded. Oh by the way, I just noticed that this was started three months ago. So now I have to go and find out that other discussion. I wonder if it was about something interesting.

I am in the same boat. I find it hard to find something interesting that a whole lot of people will respond to. And I always feel I have to comment on most of everything and I do not know whether even it does any good other then to keep the conversation going. I cannot understand how someone can find anything to write about and that people want to answer. Unless I can expand on something, I cannot answer a post with a just yes or no, or I do love cheesecake.

I don't start very many discussions but since I have started a couple these last couple days I am finally getting some responses. I have trouble finding topics to post about but once in awhile I have something to say that others may find interesting enough to respond. hehehe

I need to go through my friends list again and get rid of the inactive ones. I do this every few months and it is time again. I am sure I have a lot on my list that I haven't seen in a very long time.

I don't get many responses to my discussions neither. I have one that has had no responses. So I try not to start my own discussions. I just respond to others for the most part. I try to come on everyday and respond to the posts that have been started by my friends. I think that is probably what we have the friends option available for.

I have quite a few with no responses and those ones I don't expect I will get any at all because they are buried so deep no one would go that deep to get to them. hehe

That's a really good question! Unfortunately, I do miss many discussions, but not on purpose. Often, I'm just not on the Mylot site, so I hope my Mylot friends forgive me for missing one or two discussions. I've gotten more active on Mylot lately, both posting and responding, so hopefully I'll be able to post to more friend discussions.

I haven't seen you around much these days but then I haven't been all that active either. I just can't seem to get very motivated these days.

I think it helps to do a little bit of both starting discussions and replying to discussions. I think the biggest problem is when you have too many friends here on mylot you tend to miss A LOT of discussions! I actually have not even been on Mylot that much as of late, but I've decided to come back and revisit since I've missed it a good bit :)

Well, it is nice to see you back my friend. I don't miss any of my friends discussions because I keep them all in my email box I have set up just for mylot and I get to them all eventually. Sometimes it might take me 5 months to get to them but I do them if I have something to say. I also like responding to the old ones for two reasons. The first being because if the discussion was going to be deleted it would be gone by the time I get to it and I know my response won't be deleted along with the discussion. The second reason is because I am then re-acivating my friends old discussion so that puts it back ontop of the list in that catagory and gets more exposure and hopefully more responses so that the friend tha started the discussion earns more money for it. Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend, Have a good mylotting day, Chris

Hi friend, these days even I have stopped starting my own discussions.I enjoy more responding to my friends discussions or finding a good topic rather than sitting and thinking about what to discuss here today. There are many interesting topics that I would like to respond to,and I don't have time to start my own discussions.I enjoy reading others discussions and responding to it more than starting my very own. When I first join myLot,of course I was more focus on starting my own topic rather than giving responses to others, now I don't.Also we should never count on friends to get more responses. If he or she doesn't like the topic or find it interesting to give response to, then let him or her search for another discussion. However,if all our friends list respond, then it sure does makes us feel good and happy.Good day!

I would be happy if even a quarter of my friends on my list, responded. That would make it 25 responses per but since that doesn't happen I have given up starting them.

I find that I make more responding to others discussions rather than starting my own. I have always found this to be the case here at myLot. I think that starting discussions is good if you have a really good topic to discuss, but if you don't it is better just to reply to others. Keep up the good work and you will earn more. That is my advice. I hope you get the responses you desire from this discussion.

I mostly just respond so that is why I thought I would start one or two since my friends have asked me to. So far only two people have responded to this discussion, and none of them are friends on my list and yet they are the ones who asked me to start more. Oh well, we'll see what happens.

Hi Chris, If you started last Saturday, I don't get any notification. I got this though and hopefully, you will see a lot of your friends in your post! Or maybe they are not online this time! I started also last week and got only few responses...I noticed that I will get more responses when I will post in the afternoon! LOL!

Thanks for the advice my friend. I mostly post in the evenings but do a few in the mornings before I go to work. So maybe when I get home from work there will be a lot more of my friends online and responding to them. Hopefully. Thanks for the response my friend.

Maybe you met the wrong friends and therefore got the wrong advice. Some people can talk but no action done so you fall prey to 'scam' friends LOL. I am not on your friends list so this explains why I have not seen any of your discussions. But it so happen that I venture further from my friends list to get the feel of larger circle of members here when I saw your post. I am quite a regular contributor to discussions here and at the same instance response to my friends discussions. But not all discussions from my friends list can be covered as they are times when I can't relate to the subject. But most of the time I will response.

I only respond to interesting discussions and the ones that aren't interesting I will still read them but can't always say anything.

Well I don't really write or post any topics in here for quite a long time now. For me I'd rather response to other's discussions than creating one for my own as I find it more boring to get less replies. And one thing too, I find it quicker for me to just reply to discussions than posting my own because I won't be tiring myself of thinking what to write or to post. In responding to discussions I can write freely and express my own opinions and I find it more interesting. I have more response than postings here and that helps my earning to go up a little higher.

Hello Chris, I do check my friends' profile from time to time and check their started discussions and from there I do reply to those I haven't responded yet. But I can't do it always. I hope your friends would always or at least have the time to respond to your discussions... -hugs-

I respond to discussions where I can relate. I am however, sometimes disappointed starting discussions when where I finished it wouldn't be approved for the reason of the punctuations used. I don't stop starting discussion but just limited to one or two per day.

We must make a good topic in a new discussion, i make more responding to others discussion rather than starting my own discussion. Every country have a different time, when his/her is active and when his/her is inactive. So why don't in mylot add more feature like time area for posting.

Discussions in order that those may bring in more responses need to be interesting and centered on topics that interest quite a lot of population here.
