This is a very, very sad story. I have three kids and I know how angry you can allow yourself to get at times so I really feel for all involved in this story. http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2009/01/day-care-center-reopens-after-boys-death.html

This is indeed a terrible story. The poor baby. The parents must have been heartbroken. Sometimes, I feel that it becomes too much for a teacher to handle and she snaps. She is not supposed to, but then she is only human. That does not absolve her from her crime. When she felt it too much, she should have moved out for space for a little while. She must also be equally sad at what she has done. Sometimes in the spur of the moment you do something which you should not have done, and then repent. This is one of the cases. May the little ones soul rest in peace.

One moment of insanity can lead to life-long regret; I am so sad for all of them.

It says something positive for the day care center that the parents trust them so much and that this was an isolated incident that won't occur again and have brought their children back. I'm certainly not sure that I would have.

Under the circumstances, Katie, I believe I would have returned my children too. There is just no indication that this was anything except an over-reaction gone wrong. Unless there is more we don't know, this center seems otherwise responsible. So sad this happened.

So many testimonials for the woman's character makes me wonder if the child was hurt previously and the fall to the floor finished what someone else started. At any rate the woman doesn't sound like someone who would be violent enough with a child to do them harm. Very sad.
