On Tuesday, American history will be completely rewritten as senator Obama will officially become president Obama. This signifies that the attitudes of the american people has gone a drastic change. What about you?

Attitude change? How so? My attitude is still the same, I want a president who respects and serves the constitution. I don't feel any better about things than I did yesterday or even before the elections. The high won't last, trust me, this bubble, like every other bubble, will burst. Warm fuzzy feelings don't cure economies. A love festival doesn't stop people from trying to kill us. Catchy buzz words don't stop conflicts. I'm pleading with people, PLEASE, balance, center, get a hold of yourselves. This is almost sureal.

I do agree with you as far as the racial aspect goes. I don't believe this would have been able to happen even 8 years ago...but I also agree with xfactor...we need more than warm fuzzies and excellent speeches in order to bring about positive changes in this country. I'm watching the news coverage this morning and I see the mass high. Sure, it's nice...yes, it's historical...but this country has serious economic problems...serious international issues...which need to be addressed and I certainly hope we see more than just speeches.

It's a real mess out there and it will take time to sort them out. It took many years to get to this stage and America is not going to get out of it real quick. The new president needs time. Let's see how well he performs under these difficult conditions. Hard times call for tough decisions. Let's hope he is able to pull a rabbit of of the hat and cure the economy of its ills.

I don't think American history has been rewritten so much as a new chapter has been added and the title of that chapter is "Reconciliation".

He is another American citizen (so far as we know - there are still lawsuits pending regarding that matter) who has been elected to be President of the United States. It has happened many times in the past and will happen many times in the future - it is no more historic than any other inauguration. We will see, in time, if he deserves any credit for turning things around in our country and implementing change.

Lol, don't kid yourself. American attitude has not changed. People might have a more positive outlook right now and be giddy with excitement. However, reality will set in all too soon and it'll just be same old, same old.

What kind of overnight drastic change have we made? We are the same country today as yesterday or last year. Why did it take voting in an African American to make people think other wise. Maybe we changed a long time ago....it just took this to make people look around them and realize the change.

No, I have not swayed that way. If I have changed at all it has become even more conservative in light of all this liberal crap. I mean wth are people thinking.
