The Kitty Cat came back

Last week I posted a discussion about a stray cat that was on my porch when I came home from choir rehearsal. He ran away when I got to the door. The next day was supposed to be the coldest day of the year so far, and I was really concerned about the cat. I left some food for him/her in the chair that he/she was curled up in. Everyday I would check to see if the food was gone, and it wasn't. I thought about that cat often. Last night it snowed again, and when I looked out of my bathroom window, I saw little paw prints. I ran downstairs, and eureka, I saw little paw prints on the porch. I checked the chair, and every morsel of food was gone, I was so happy that the cat came back and got the food. He/she also left me a gift, two little cat poops right on my walkway. I shoveled it away before my landlord saw it, he is not an animal lover. Tonight, I will leave some more food, my two cats should be happy that they were able to help a homeless kitty cat. Just felt like sharing, thanks for reading

Hi there! It's lovely that you are helping the stray cat, I would have done exactly the same. I am an acid cat lover and I have one beautiful Siamese cross little boy called Max and whenever I see a stray cat it upsets me so much. I know cats have a mind of their own and run away and suchlike but if I could take every stray cat into my home, I would! If you keep feeding the stray cat you will probably find that it will soon start living around your home, would you take it in permanantly if it did? Glad to hear you are helping animals! The post made me smile :)

Thank you for your kind response. I have two cats of my own, I think my landlord, just tolerates them. I would not be able to take the cat in , there is a no kill shelter in my area, maybe I will contact them to see if they can catch the cat.

You have such a big heart! One word of warning. Don't get too attached to a stray you can't take in. Unfortunately they do meet with disaster on occasion, and it will break you heart to know of it.

Cats are amazingly resourceful and resilient. We used to have a couple strays around our neighborhood. They moved into the area when the neighbor's garage collapsed and little mice left their home in it's foundation(eeek!) As long as the kitty knows that he can find food and maybe a warm place to sleep, he'll be back.
