Many people user their firstnames but I don't consider that as a nickname - a nickname has to be different from the given name of a person. My nickname is Oyen and it's far from my given name which is Marie.

Hello oyenkai! I do have a nickname. My first name is aisa but one time, when my sister got angry with me, she called me "aisot" just to tease me. Now everybody are calling me aisot. They murdered my name..hehehe..

My nicknames are close to my original name, except for one. My name is Courtney and most of my friends call me Court. From the time when I was born my aunt, uncle and cousins called me Courters...which they still do even though I am in my 20s. I am a huge Harry Potter fan and have been for years, so some of my friends call me Hermione because if they have a question on the series or the movies they know I will be ready with the answer, lol.
