I didn't name my daughter after anyone, but I did name my son after my sister. Her name is Meshalia (pronounced, Ma Shay La). We have always called her Shay for short. I decided to let my daughter pick out my son's middle name and she chose Shay because she is her favorite aunt. Thus, My son is Justice Shay. I've uploaded one of my favorite pictures of my sister, Shay and her name sake and my son, Justice Shay. I think it is a very sweet picture. Did you name your children after anyone?

My son's middle name is Ryan. He was not necessarily named after anyone, but I do have a cousin named Ryan. My daughter Lily is named after my grandmother, but I changed the spelling from Lillie to Lily.

Lily is a very beautiful name, I'm sure she does her Great-Grandmother Lillie justice.

I have five children 3 boys and 2 girls. My last 3 children which is 1 girl and 2 boys I wanted to name them after my husband but he wouldn't let me name my daughter after him (his name can go either way). But I did name my last 2 children after him so I have my husband my 2 year old and 7 month old all with the same name. I want one more child and I think I will probably try to name that one after my husband too. My husband said if George Foreman can do it he can to.

Wow, you have a house full. I wanted to name my daughter after her dad. His name is Ricky Ray and I wanted to name her Ricki Rae, but he didn't want that. He was a Jr. and said he hated it and didn't want that for his kids. I agree with your husband, if George Foreman can do it, then anyone should be able too.

Yes, both of my children are name-sakes, actually. My first son is named after his father, and he really likes being a Jr. My second son is named after both of my grandfathers on my mother's side. If I ever had a girl, though, I she would have had her "own" name because there aren't any girl's names in my family that I really like. LOL

Yes, my husband and I chose the names of our children based on our names. Their names are a combiation of our names. A sort of gift to them. So they will always be reminded that they have our names - literally and figuratively speaking.

My oldest daughter has my mother's middle name and my youngest has her dad's mom's middle name. Kimber Elaine and Jessa Renee. I bet your sister is very proud to have your son named after her. I like that name too.

Those are beautiful names. I love Kimber and Jessa. I used to like the name Kimberlynn. I thought it was pretty. My sister is one of the greatest. I live in central Missouri and she lives in Arkansas. I don't have any help at all with my son except for a teenager here in town who occasionally pops in to help me out. This past summer my sister took my son for a week so I could get a much-needed break. I remember telling her how much I appreciated it and she said, "You deserve it. Your a great mom, so just take some time out for you". It almost made me cry when she said it. My son is just as blessed to be named after her as she is blessed to have him named after her. And me, I'm blessed to have a wonderful loving sister and a beautiful son in my life.

My mom always told me that I was named after her favorite trouble maker on her soap opera. She ws an advid As the World Turns watcher and there was a character "Lisa" who faked a pregnancy to steal this woman's fiance, among a ton of other misdeeds. I don't think I've led nearly the michevious life my namesake did.

My oldest son is named after a friend that my husband had when he was younger. My daughter's name is LaShaya Donelle. Her middle name is a combination of my husband's and my middle name, Don & Michelle. My youngest son has the middle name Deen but we spelled it that way because my mom's name is Dee. So all three of mine are named after someone in one way or another. My oldest son also has the same middle name as my husband.

I named my daughter after my grandmother. I wanted to honor her memory. My sons middle name is my husbands 1st name. I would have liked a junior, but no one else seemed to like the idea. This was my compromise.

Kinda sorta. My oldest, Dearra (dee ar uh) has a made up name, D for Dawn, R for Richard, uh. My twins are Cary and Naomi. Cary is after Cary Grant and Naomi is just because I liked the name. For the longest time, my sister was trying to get me to name them the same way as Dearra, kept sending me lists of possible names, but I wasn't having any of that!

I don't have kids yet. In my country it'd not normal to name your kids after somneone - but I might consider it. For example after my grandparents or so. That might be nice, honor their memory..

I do not have any children but I named my two cats for what they are in my native languages. Like my boy kitty's name is boy and my girl kitty's name is grey because she is grey. Not very creative but it seemed fun at the time. I did have a cat named Sergey because in my home country that is a very popular name so I basically named him after many many people.

My childern were all pretty much named after soap opera names. My mother-in-law at the time was into Days of Our Lives and my mother watched "Another World" I have 3 daughters. The oldest is the exception as I chose her name. My favorite names at the time were Lauren and Ashley (from Gone With the Wind and eventhough Ashley was a man's name I still liked it)... Oldest daughter....Lauren Ashley Middle Daughter....Marlena Marie Youngest Daughter..Victoria Elizabeth They were attempting a "Vicki and Marley" thing but still to this very day my youngest goes by Elizabeth. My cousin was named after a stripper....My name came from a novel my mother was reading..Guess we all grab names from whereever we can.

I did, though it had not been my or my husband's intention. With our oldest son he his middle name is the same as my late father-in-law's first name. With my youngest son his middle name is the same as his late great grandfather's first name. And with my youngest son he has the same first name as one of my first cousin's. My husband and I agreed on these names because we liked the way they sounded with our last name. Both sets of names have a nice ring to it...at least to my husband and I.

I named them after people in the Bible. I like the Biblical names and none of our friends or relatives have those names either. The middle names we chose after other family members that were really important in our lives and as a show of respect.

We had a hard time agreeing on the name of our two girls so it got to be difficult. I picked out the oldest ones name and he finally agreed on Alyssa Skye. He named our youngest daughter but I had to agree on the name. He wanted to name her Kenzie but we decided to name her McKenzie Cheyanne and we call her Kenzie. They were not really named after anyone since we never could agree. However me and all of my cousins that are girls on my dads side all have the middle name Elizabeth after my grandmother.
