How do I make unecessary thoughts go away?

I have been obsessing about my weight for the past three years. Sometimes I think that I have been wasting time and money on this. It's like a crazy vicious cycle! I've been trying to lose weight again recently and whenever I don't see a progress I resort to desperate measures (I don't wanna mention them anymore). It makes me do stupid things! I try to put on a front that I'm doing everything in a healthy way like exercising and eating the right food but what is not healthy is that it's all that goes on in my mind. I know there are more important things but I just can't stop the thoughts from coming. I was a fat kid and I am afraid to go back there... I don't want to elaborate all my history anymore since I think this is long enough... I believe that if I could at least stop these thoughts from coming to often, I would be a more productive person.

One thing that might help is to stop watching tv and try to ignore pop-culture as best you can. As far as having been a fat kid, there are lots of "normal" sized people who were fat as kids. Being fat is what happens to kids between growth spurts. Just remember there will always be someone prettier, thinner and younger than you out there. Don't worry about those people, they have problems too...just accept who you are and feel good about it! Happy MyLotting!

ha ha ha ha ha... if it is only in your mind, then you are the only person who can put a stop to it. When it comes to dieting, I am always at logger heads with my wife. But I am never really bothered by what people say about my weight. To me, life is hard enough as it is. I rather eat and die a happy fat man than to abstain and die a sad skinny one. One way to stop yourself from any nasty thoughts about your weight is to stop short whenever you are aware. If you must, keep a thoughts diary. Each unwanted thought that you have, put it down on paper. And keep thinking to yourself, once you put it down on paper, it is no longer needed to be kept in the mind. If you want, you can also use mylot instead of paper. Then when people chat and discuss about those thoughts, you will start to see that it is not something you should be brooding over after a while.

Hi jay, The thing you need to do it to just forget it! You are very pretty! Enjoy life with friends and then when you have a lot of idle time, get busy, play your favorite sport or hang out with friends!

Yeah I should be busy with other things! I think it is when I am idle that these thoughts come! Thanks so much!

I think you should make losing weight a routine for you to stop thinking about it. Don't mind about the results yet for as long as you're doing it. Everything will be achieved with hard work right? Set your mind into it first then before you know it, you've been doing it for weeks, months or years and trust me, the results will be favorable. When it has become a routine. Your mind will focus more on other things because losing weight will be automatic to you. My ex looks similar to you and for me, she's fine that way eventhough she's more on the chubby side. But still she's sexy as hell. It could be her personality. I'm curious about the desperate measures though hehe.. jk!
