Whats Wrong With America?

United States

It seems as though every time you turn on the news there are more U.S. companies going out of business, and people throughout the United States losing jobs and revenue. Just today - news of Microsoft will cut 5,000 jobs in three years, and Bank of America to cut 32,000 jobs in the next three years also. What has become of America? Will our nation return to the glory-days of the past?

What's wrong with america is all the jobs that were shipped over seas within the past decade. Less americans able to get jobs, less people buying products here, less profit for american businesses, less more jobs, less more money, less......I think you get the idea. Also another big part of it. Greed. Over the years that Bush was in office he gave many tax breaks, and bailouts to american companies to use to find more employees, increase pay wages, whatever. Instead most just kept the money for themseleves. The money that the big 3 car dealers got. You can bet they're gonna keep it for themselves. Anyone working for them should not kid themselves. You should be looking for another job.

oh and yes. We can pull ourselves out of this mess. We've done it before. But this time we need a real solution, not a cover up.

Obama and the liberal left. That is what is wrong with America. When the government tries to control the economy, they screw it up. Liberals have screwed up education, the courts and everything else they have touched. Why is that? Because they are ashamed of our country and want to bring it down. Looks like they are doing a good job. And now we have put an avowed socialist at the head of the ship. djbtol

Although things really do look bad now, I think there's reason to be hopeful. It seems like we're doomed to go through these continual cycles of boom times followed by recession times. Sometimes it gets really bad, but we've always managed to come out of it up to this point. I know a lot of people are skeptical of how the government is handling the crisis -- I am, too -- but just look at all the crazy stuff the government did during the Great Depression. If we were still able to come through a crisis during which the government made it illegal to hoard gold, fixed prices, and destroyed crops and livestock, then I think we can also probably survive Bush and Obama's Great Giveaway. Hopefully, in a couple of years all this stuff will just be a bad memory...at least for those who didn't lose everything in the stock market or have a business go under.

I think it's happening everywhere. I heard about the Microsoft 1 last night on the midnight news. The next after Microsoft was Samsung. Was said that the demand of LCDs & other displays have dropped drastically during these times.
