I always try to award these to new members to incourage them. I remember how high it made me feel when i got my first reward. Sometimes the old timers is just to good and I give it to them, to bad we don't have a first, second, third award

Hi pat~I know that alot of people have the same feelings as you do! Even though I don't start many discussions I think that picking a best response is definitely the most difficult part of being a discussion starter! I have heard many people say that they wish there could be more than one best. It is true that there are sometimes many "bests" and it does make for a very difficult choice. I do tend to agree with you that if you can help to encourage a new member that is always nice. I still feel very proud no matter how many bests I get. It let's me know that I am still being appreciated and giving it my all.

Hi Savypat, I really need to catch up and reward some best responses but am so busy trying to play catch up with discussions and responses in general I never seem to get ound to it. I also have given to newcomers to help encourage and some responses I have received that have ben really good having been a post they have been an addition to another response so Icouldn't reward which is a shame for that poster. I also do give to the oldtimers too as the response has been just so good. Huggles. Ellie :D

yup, there were old timers, who encouraged me too, when i was a newbie.for me,awarding best response,is quite a tedious process but i usually award it to mylotters who make the discussion more lively.

When I'm wishing for runners-up to be rewarded, I'm careful to rate their discussions +. It helps boost their myLot reputations. Mine's been the same ever since I can remember, and I'd loveit to go up, in spite of the fact that I've been around the Lot forever and a day!

I agree with your last comment sooo much! Many times I receive more than one great response to a post and picking just one is so hard. I do try to encourage newcomers sometimes, if it's a close tie, but usually I have to just determine which response was actually the best regardless of who posted it.
