Do you like your fruit raw and plain or cooked and spiced up. I don't mind apple crumble is one of my favourite puddings, orange sponge, banana custard.I also enjoy a nice crispy apple or pear, then there is the blanched pears with hot chocolate sauce so come on whats your favourite ways of eating fruit.

I like my fruit plain with nothing on it. That is the best and healthiest way to eat it!

I prefer my fruit plain... because that way i can have the original taste... and that is fine with me... but sometimes... if the fruit is to sour... i put a pinch of salt... just to even up the taste... but aside for that... nothing else...

Hi there Suzzy, As I was reading your discussion I said to myself, well that depends on whether you want me to have healthy fruit or unhealthy fruit... Because trust me there is a big difference! Do not get me wrong I will eat just about any fruit raw as I love almost all of them, my personal favorites being berries, melons, pineapple, peaches and so on. I'm also a big fan of fruit smoothies. I put any of the above fruit with yogurt and soy milk, and end up with a very tasty and nutritious shake for breakfast or as a snack. Smoothies made with soy milk are almost as good as a meal as they are higher in protein than if you were to use regular cows milk. Then we move on to the not so healthy desserts. On the top of that list has to be strawberry shortcake. And if I can really stretch the use of fruit and still have it be considered healthy any cheesecake is also on the top of that same list. Technically cheesecake is fruit, is it not? However, as I said before I have no problem sitting down to chow down on some watermelon, or peach when they're in season. Happy Mylotting!

Thank you for such a wonderful response you are right cooking does take some of the goodness out,the idea is not to use much water and make a syrup out of it ,you have to have some sugar sometimes or honey is nice to sweeten the idea is not to cook to long,I like the idea of your shakes with soya milk will give them a try.Strawberry shortcake making my mouth water. Thanks again suzzy3

It's all good. Apples can be done anyway and it's all great, but I really prefer apples mixed with other things. Apple crumble, apple pie, apple with peanut butter (you have to use the tart kind for this to taste good). Bananas are ok, but better in pie. Pineapple has to be mixed with something else, otherwise it's pucker power! Strawberries are better as they are. Pear also. The more that's added to those, the less tasty they are.

I love fruit salads, raw/plain fruit, and fruits in desserts . . . I don't think I could decide how I like it the best! Last night I was thinking about making a 13x9 vanilla sheet cake, divding it, and putting whipped cream, strawberries and banana slices in the middle before frosting it over with vanilla frosting...mmmmmm

I like any fruit ripened to perfection and maybe with some yogurt or honey. It is best raw ofcourse and crispy in the case of a apple or pear like you mentioned. I like pineapple and coconut and mango and papya ripe and sliced with yogurt.

There are some fruits I'd rather not eat raw, and others I just love to bite into. I prefer apples or bananas in a dish or dessert, such as apple crumble, banana pudding, or any kind of fruit pie. But some fruits, like pears, or mangoes, I like to just eat them as they are, or cut them up and eat them that way. One of my favorites is starfruit. It tastes almost exactly like an apple, but it's sweeter and juicier - plus it's shaped like a star, and who doesn't enjoy that.
